So you're doing it? Getting chromed duckfeet on your car? That's pretty cool.

$120 for an oil change? You can get 5 quarts of quality synthetic oil for $25 (give or take) at Walmart, And a good quality filter can be had on Amazon for another $10. Then you DIY the oil change and save yourself $85. Granted, you have to climb under the car, and you have to properly recycle the old oil, but it's worth it. Plus there's the peace of mind of a job done right.
Thanks for the encouragement. I know I’m in the minority with this choice, but I’ve wanted those wheels since the first saw them at the dealer 11 years ago (my love for chrome goes way back). I have to admit that I’m still a little attached to the original wheels as well.

I only pay $80 for NEO with a filter and crush washer shipped from Z1. For the synthetic changes on my other two cars it’s $33 (Pennzoil Platinum, oem oil filter off eBay), so $119 seems a bit higher than expected. We receive coupons from Honda for the same service and those are $79.

Cusco Front Power Braces

Installed a set of Cusco Front Power Braces today to match the one I had previously installed in the rear. Couldn’t find torque specs, so I torqued the large bolt to 100 ft/lbs and the smaller one to 85 ft/lbs. Will check tightness again in a few months. The instructions were in Japanese, so the Google translate camera app came in handy. The instructions say the bars are for a V36 coupe and are not to be used outside of Japan, which seemed odd. I drove around the neighborhood and am surprised how each little chassis stiffening mod seems to make the car feel so much more planted and responsive. I have a long drive up north Monday, so I’m curious to see how much different it feels on the highway. The 370z, convertible and AWD all ship with a similar brace so I’m not sure why it was left off the RWD sedan.

Good lighting this morning when I went running at the park so I decided to snap another pic before I transition to the new wheels.

Is that the same thing as the OEM brace in the AWD and the Vert?

yes. The vert/awd/370Z oem brace looks more unassuming, but both serve the same function.

Cusco builds these for V36 Skyline coupes, but they obviously work on Infiniti V36 coupe/sedans as well.

Today I switched from Pennzoil High Mileage to Redline to see if it changes the valve click at all. I think my motor is just very healthy because so far there's absolutely no difference lol. Might need another oil change to wash out the remaining Pennzoil.

When mine started making clicking noises I tried Nissan ester and Redline with no luck. Tried Motul 8100 and it's been silent since. Been using Motul for 3 years.

That's crazy I wanted to try Motul but couldn't find where to buy it for a good price. Now I find Z1 sells a kit. Do you know the difference between eco-nergy and X-clean+? Z1 only sells their kit in eco-nrgy not that I'd use the filter.

I use Motul 8100 Eco-"clean for my Q70L only and very satisfied with results. Here is my source https://g2-distribution.com/products/motul-101584-8100-eco-clean-5w30-4x5l Can't find cheaper than that.

Ebay or Amazon. Get 8100 X-Clean EFE 5W30 or 8100 ECO-LITE 5W30. EFE would keep my check engine light off after a reset when I had a cat related code. And no I don't know the difference between those 2.

My car needed a detail, and I decided to spend the money on a Griots 2-step ceramic kit that comes with their orbital polisher. I've never used a polisher before and was a bit apprehensive, but it was easy to use and the results are outstanding! The chips and scratches from being a 12 year old car are still there, obviously, but it otherwise looks amazing.

Took me two Nissan Ester Oil changes to completely remove mine.

This guy is going in next week, only at ~50k miles but I’m not trying to get stranded. And I’d like to do a coolant flush anyways.

Thanks to the forum for identifying the problem and finding a better solution than factory replacement
