The transmission mount won't break in, it is what it is. The only thing that will change is you, either you come to like the new normal, or it drives you nuts. There's no right or wrong, it's an objective, personal thing. It's been over two years now with mine, but I still remember that first reaction. That sense of shock happens to everyone.

Engine mounts, diff bushings, and diff brace are all incremental compared to the vibration monster of the transmission mount.

Throttle feels more responsive though, doesn't it? Racecar, LOL

Well crap. Hopefully I adjust. I was absolutely insane the first drive. Scared me. Thought I install wrong. Throttle response is awesome!

You mentioned the change in noise, and that's very real. The mount introduce a new resonance vibration. It's a tonal quality to the car which is somewhat startling. Personally, I love it. Makes the car more raw and exciting. If you can live with it, trust me it will become the new normal eventually. Might take a while, though.

Also, with your Sedan having a manual transmission, you're going to experience something else from time to time: when letting off the gas after heavy throttle in the mid-gears, there will be an almost visceral growl, accompanied with a somewhat scary vibration. It won't happen all the time, kind of rare actually, but it will happen. And you're going to freak out wondering what that was. You can modulate the effect with the throttle again, or by changing gears.

So you've got that to look forward to.

Installed the engine mounts. These DID help tame the trans mount surprisingly. I felt a huge difference in response even more so than the trans mount.

Definitely do engine mounts then trans mount or both together.
Install was a headache. Thank God the top bolts for the engine mounts are only 36 ft lbs.

I was going to comment that I had heard doing the engine mounts lessen the harshness of the trans mount. How much of the vibration went away after the engine mounts? (I might be planning engine and trans mounts this summer.)

While the engine mounts reduced the trans mount vibration harshness a good amount I did notice they increased engine vibration a little. Imo a good trade off considering the trans mount vibrated the cabin quite a bit. That has subsided some with the engine mounts. Definitely do both or just the engine mounts first then trans. I'm 31 and have test pipes and exhaust I'm by no means a sissy with mods but that trans mount vibration was insane. I'd take a tomei single and test pipes over that. But with engine mounts its do able.

You know what else you just did with those Z1 motor mounts? You lowered your engine about a half inch.

I don't really know what that means good or bad, but it happened.

Lowering the engine is the absolute last thing I needed. I scrape my y pipe enough already. Guess now I can Install my strut tower bar without removing the hood insulation.

You'll have tons of clearance now for a FSTB.

My tower brace was on the car before and after the motor mount install. Before the mounts there was maybe a quarter inch clearance. Afterwards there was 3/4" clearance.

I painted my sport bumper and lip yesterday. I'm super happy with it for a basement spray job. I'll let it cure for a few days and then wetsand it.

I did a bit of suspension work, lower left control arm, upper right and end links and an alignment, really nothing exciting per se, more like maintenance.
I think i need to eventually do the lower right and upper left and get some adjustable rear arms for the camber and toe as per the results below! Anyone have a simple inexpensive recommendation.
