Could also be non functional and just for the pic. If it did work, I'd love to know what it does. Only thing I can think of antenna gain.

Compounded it with a random orbital buffer. Next weekend I will hit it with the polisher to bring out the full shine. PO must have had a fetish for the dirtiest drive through washes possible; it really looked horrible.

Next up: get the Z1 camber arms.

New steering wheel:

And my buddy did a little headlight restoration for me:

Before:

In person they actually look much worse than they do in the pic.

And after:

Followed by a quick interior detail. Didn’t take pics as everyone knows what a fresh interior looks like.

The headlight kit was one recommended by a buddy that does them at the local toyota dealership. I was skeptical, but I can say I’m pleased in the short term. Long term I plan to take the housings apart, paint and modify the internals, followed by a proper wetsand and some quality uv-stable clear/sealant.

Thanks! I’m embarrased at how bad I let the lights get. But the front of the car is completely transformed by freshening them up. Especially considering the relatively low cost of the kit. My car sees a lot of sun, so I’ll update on the longevity when it becomes apparent.

Are you casting F-Type video from your phone to the dash?

If the video quality is less than impressive, not sure it's the Chromecast, but the screen itself. Pretty sure the screen resolution improved significantly in 2010 over previous models.

Yeah, its casting over wifi from my phone to the dash screen.

The car only has an RCA input so its run through a converter. You're right that the 2010 screen is higher res but with the 2010 system they also removed any sort of video input (as far as i know). RCA has has a max res of like 720x480 or something.

What I really wanted to do was be able to mirror Google Maps onto that screen but it's just not gonna happen with such bad screen quality.

IDK about that. If my p-brake is engaged, I can play DVD's through the dash. Same for 7AT cars in Park.

I suspect it would play movies off a thumb drive too, but I've not tried it. For your 2007, have you tried putting a movie on a CF card? Or was the CF slot a 2009 thing only? Not too up on that bit of miscellaneous info.

Oh, I didn't know it plays DVDs. But what about any sort of video input? HDMI or RCA.

I have the CF slot. I've only ever tried it for music though.

HDMI was barely a thing in 2007. And RCA is a 480i resolution at best.

Play with your CF slot and a number of different movie file formats, see what happens. (That sounds kind of pervy, but whatever.)

No I was asking if your 2010 had an HDMI. Obviously that would be a little before its time in 2007 lol.

Tempted to try the CF now although I don't think it will work. I've never seen any menus in there for video.

+100 cool guy points for watching TST though! I watched this one while on the train to work this morning. I’m eventually going to try and put a carputer in mine but am wondering if it’s worth the hassle.

TST is awesome!
On my old car i went all out with a Nexus 7 install but it was easier since everything wasn't so integrated like it is in the Infiniti. The real problem here is just the screen.... I could also replace the screen with a multi-input higher res one but then I'd have to modify the harness and i'd lose the touch functionality (not like i ever use it anyways)
