Just driving around the city i can understand how the WRX would be more fun to drive than the Mustang.

Areas that enhance it's driving qualities over the GT in the city is the taller final drive ratio: 4.11 (STi - 3.90), it's boosted so the torque combined with the taller gearing hits you sooner and harder, and it's around 500lbs lighter. That would make it a blast to drive anywhere really....

MAybe just vinly wrap the interior and call it a day!

I think I might go with the WRX next time or anything turbo... I have 2 more years on my Q40 lease...

Good luck with your car hunting!

I really like the Ford Ecoboost twin turbo V6 Ford Explorer. The guy raced me once and he does have some pull in the midrange, but I left him at 60MPH... but for a 5,000 Ibs Suv , that thing has some ***** on low-mid powerband. (6 secs flat 0-60) We all know that .5-1 sec is not much a big difference in real world 0-60 time. (Except 1/4 mile run)

So don't underestimate them from a dig... Nowonder a lot of cops here use that...If Ford use that V6 twin turbo ecoboost on their smaller car, we have a problem Infiniti...

I'm running same mods plus headers and ported tb. I'm only on uprev though. No knocks or cel ever in over a year since I started modding my X. I am tempted with trying them for tuning cause I have heard of good results

I miss the wagon version. And it's too bad Subaru discontinued the Legacy GT. Because the WRX interior is hideous.

I hate to think I'm going to have to end up in s STi or Focus RS to get a MT.

You need to stop modding. It's ruining the cars you buy....

Ok, back on the knock topic, I got speak with seb about the ecutek knock issue with the awd g37's. He basically stated that the ecutek tuning is hypersensitive to knock, so much so that it is picking up other noises and assuming it's knock. I asked him if it could be possible that the front diff in the awd is making noises the rwd g' s don't have, thusly causing ecutek to detect more knock. He stated it's entirely possible. A this time, it is being looked into by ecutek. On a brighter note, I made 301whp and 245tq on his dyno post test pipe install, and that's with 3.90 gears!

I only see 1 KR from 3-4k , Sebs tunes pulls up to 6-7KR from 3k all the way to redline( when I shift) and the power pull is noticable. So I would wait to switch to Seb's tune until he figures out why the AWD cars have KR issues . I'm not driving on his tune I've been on Johns for like 7-8 weeks now.
You shouldn't even be pulling 1 degree in timing, no knock is the goal. It's not sebs tuning, it's ecutek and how it detects knock. It will get figured out, but it's in ecuteks hands.

Completely agree 100% it's not Seb's tune there is no way. The overall feel of his tune is better just don't like the fall in the upper RPM's when it really starts pulling timing. An I know the goal is to see zero KR or ignition pull but 1 for 1k is better than 6-7 whole RPM band :/..

An I really hope they get it figured out because the throttle response and the allow of the brake switch overide in the autos for launching is a MUST have for me. I love that I can launch the car and burn the tires if need be

Remember I have a AWD!

I spoke to him about the same thing Either that or with the combination of the front diff and headers there is a lot of audible noise up there, I would almost bet that's why I see it. But him being all the way on the other side of the country I have no option for him to tune it with his KR headphones. At least if we could do that he could just disable the KR or tune it WAY down as he would know the motor isn't knocking. BTW he is very good people he always gets back to me( I check in once a week with him)

He tuned me to 314 WHP( LOW dyno) before the KR stared :/

I totally agree with you on the kr, the way seb explained the problem to me, was that the awd g's are seeing knock that doesn't exist. I'm pretty sure your knock is the Phantom knock, not real knock. ecutek had already admitted that the problem lies in their end, seb is just waiting for them to figure out what is wrong.

Can't wait!

I am currently using Visconti map 4 aggressive tune and I find the 3rd gear pull is not aggressive enough. The 4th gear seems more aggressive in low to mid rpm.

Once this issue is (ECUTEK) resolved and I might retune with Seb.
