Yea I'm out
If your having knock problems try looking into the throttle tuning, I had some knock issues when I tried a more aggressive throttle table on my g. Reverted it back to a more mild throttle map and things are much better. Funny thing is, my maps running more timing advance seemed to make the knock worse. I tried running booster in my gas to no avail and was getting pretty irritated. I had the mild throttle table flashed back to my tune (ecutek) and it has gone away completely. No knock at all. Give it a try if you are running an aggressive throttle map, might work. Good luck, hope this helps!

From: Framingham Ma,
Yea Seb it still working on this. I looks to be something with G's with AWD he has 2 other cars and their cars are doing the same thing as mine :/. He's got a emails out to ECUTEK
I almost got a vert S4 before the G. I fell in love with it, esp the V8 exhaust note
But the Timing chain issue steered me away from it. I think it's the tensioners (and cheap plastic guides) but when they break, it's a $8-$12k fix. You have to pull the entire engine out to replace.

The S5 coupe came with a 4.2L V8 from 08-12 and came standard with the 3L Supercharged in 2013+
I'm curious because every once in a while I get a flashing CEL for a brief moment and then it goes away. I use the same Shell station run only 93 octane, BG 44K every oil change. Car runs excellent. Just curious so I can be proactive in the event I run into this issue.

From: Framingham Ma,
How do you know your car is knocking? What are you seeing to know that it is? Are you seeing it when you are data logging? Do you know because you get a flashing CEL? Do you hear the engine knocking?

From: Framingham Ma,
yes there is, I have buddy here with a AWD and he's going through the same thing. I'm just running a different tune( JohnV) tune till its solved.
Weird cause I only see, 1 count from 3-4k on johns then it goes away (0)

I really do believe there is a connection between timing and the throttle tables, if they are too aggressive knock becomes an issue. Maybe the motors that open the throttles are not fast enough to respond to aggressive throttle tuning, causing issues with the afr? Idk.... I had the issues with knock same as you but I have a rwd sedan, so I don't think the problem is isolated to awd only. I have a hfc install and tune scheduled with seb next week, I'll talk with him about this issue and see what he thinks.

You should honestly sell it and get the Audi you want...that's what you will eventually do so why wait?
I personally am thinking about going back to a Vette...but unsure.
