Sorry to hear of your frustrations and that you're moving on. I'd be in the same boat if I had the same problems with my car. I got the G a little while ago telling myself I wasn't going to mod this one. Well, about $12K later, and I've spent about as much as I would have if I bought the used Cayman S I was also looking at. If I'd have had the problems you have had, I'd be out too.

If it's any help, this is what I've learned: I got this car knowing that it wasn't as fast as I'd like, and it could use help in the handling department. I still have my track car, so I figured I would only need a fun daily. And since I have modded everything else I've owned, I figured this car is cheaper, and there is a large aftermarket for these cars (same as 370Z). So I got the cheaper car expecting to mod it. Well, as I've gotten older, I've started to feel like modding a car was more of a chore than an exciting exploration. I've learned that sometimes you're upgrading, but most of the time, you're fixing. So I had money reserved for mods, but when I use that money for repairs, I always think that I should have just bought something that didn't need to be modded in the first place. Warranties are a lot more valuable to me now, as is the security of knowing that the car will start when I get in it. Rather, I could do without the anxiety of questioning whether the car will start when I get in it. There are a lot of cool cars out right now. So if I've learned anything, it's that I'd get something that had the power I was looking for, and was still under warranty. Warranty is key, that means someone else is dealing with it.

Best of luck with your next car! It's always exciting to go car shopping!

From: Framingham Ma,
My header install was $800 one day at the shop and then the drivers side had to come out and get replaced( Stillen) paid for that. But all in all I took some outside advice and looked at all the money options as of now for me and I'm trying a different tuner. It at least didn't cost me anything as the retune is the same price as a got for some parts I sold this week. So we'll see I'm still not sure what's going to happen. If I can find a S4 for what I want to pay and not have crazy miles I still mey go that way. The 335 everyone is talking about is a great car to mod IMO but have heard horror stories about cars out of warranty , wastegate rattle, turbos going after 80k and the electronics are only good for like 3-4 years :/

What a shame to read about this issue. Just seem Like modding issue after another and I can understand the follow on frustrations of dealing with them.

I know the feeling, I kinda regret modding this car, but besides suspension, it's just been oem parts, like wheels, brakes, lip, spoiler and the grill. Glad I never moved forward with any performance mods. Oh well, it looks good and should make for a reliable daily for a long time.

My friend just traded in his 2009 335i due to the turbos, etc failing. he sold it and just got a Genesis 3.8. Bmw is not the way to go after see this guy change from bmw to Hyundai. And this guy has had a m6 before his 335i too.

The one I'm looking at has intake and catback already, 6spd, and two tone, blk leather and grey suede interior but over 100k . I've read good and bad at that mileage, but will be sure to take it too an Audi dealer for full once over. I think I'll stay towards a S4 as the turbo issues with the 335 can be a nightmare
Lookup S4 timing chain guide before heading down the Audi 4.2 V8 road.

I felt the same way when I got a new car. Ive still got my G with a blower sitting in my garage. Do like the ATS-V much more. The engine is fantastic, and the chassis is light-years ahead of the G. Give this car a thought before you get an S4. Only thing is, I will need a winter car now as the V is RWD. At least I get to buy another car! Really thinking hard about the Jaguar F-Pace.
