Q50 Loaner Car

Hey guys
I'm new to the forum and already snooped around and introduced myself in the newbie section. The dealer offered to powder coat my rims so I got a Q50 loaner for the day! 2 new cars in 1 week ! I must say the engine is way quieter in the q but it def still pick up and moves. It feels heavier than the G but it's a smooth ride. Def gonna get a Q in the future this ride is hot!

I thought that the Q50 had a cheesy interior.

The double touch screen looks modern, however the functionality didn't seem thought out very well.

The interior pieces didn't feel as high quality to me and the seats weren't as comfortable as my G37.

YMMV

When I had one as a loner I thought the double touchscreen was useful, but the bottom one lagged soooo much. Also, Infiniti didn't think as much for functionality versus form, as the bottom one only had a few functions. I could see this being awesome though with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

^^ Was kind of disappointed when Apple released the over 100 models of cars coming out over the next year+ with Apple Play compatibility, Nissan and Infiniti were noticeably absent.

I had a Q50 loaner for over a week while the dealer tried to chase down that problem I was having.

I really enjoyed the Q50, it's a very comfortable ride and the interior is nicely appointed, a bit bigger inside than the G37. I also liked having the ability to change drive modes (but I found myself always dialing it back to the normal mode). It's also a great looking car; mine was dark red and it felt good being seen in it.

However the car just didn't have the same enthusiasm for driving that the G37 has. When I pressed on the accellerator, the Q says, "oh, you're in a hurry, okay" while the G says, "ALL RIGHT let's go!"

Now that the Q40 has been officially discontinued, there really is no successor to the G37 anymore in Infiniti's lineup, and that is a shame.

I feel the Q50 is a mature G37, it's not as loud and aggressive, but it def picks up when u want it to. The whole aura in the car is just unmatched double touch screen the way the headlights look it's just cool. Add a couple mods and you're pretty much set, really don't have to do much.

I did enjoy it, for the week that I had it. And yes, it has a strong engine. But it didn't have the boyish eagerness to jump forward at the green light and leave the rest of the gathered vehicles behind. The Q is a bit bigger, a bit more refined, and a bit less eager to have fun.

What impresses me most about the Q50 is the technology Infiniti is serving up in it.

The Q is lighter tgan the G, also maybe the transmission has different gear ratios?
