Gotta say, the safety systems in your G functioned perfectly. The steel door bars in your PS door prevented the other car from killing or badly injuring your GF. Ever had fractured ribs and shoulder? I have and it's weeks and months of pain and recovery. The side airbag? Probably prevented a traumatic brain injury to your girlfriend when her head snapped against the B-pillar. Whatever happens, a few bruises and whatnot, it's a good holiday outcome for both you and your GF! It's something we take for granted all too easily nowadays...
This was a 2009 or 2010 chevy cobalt. Got hit on the pass side by a pickup truck. After all was said and done, there wasn't much of a passenger compartment left. Only occupant was the driver. The side curtain air bags did little to prevent head trauma. Maybe if it also had seat air bags the outcome would be different.
I have other pics too, but too graphic to post.
damn sorry to hear about the collision and damage to your car. i would just deal with your own insurance company and not be in contact with the other party's insurance. lots of morons on the roadways, part of the blame is the government giving drivers licenses' to illegal immigrants and other miscreants who can't speak or read a word of english and allow every bone head to take the driver's written test in every kind of language from around the globe. perhaps the moron couldn't read "stop" in english, he needed it to be written in his native third world language "alto"

Sorry OP, glad everyone is okay... Good thing you had the dash cam, it will save you a lot of trouble. Good luck with the repairs!
P.S. I am not Hispanic
I'd love to see a complete stop at a 4 way stop. Haven't seen one in years. I doubt any of you actually stop the wheels at a 4 way stop. Plus that idiot ran past it completely. Like I said, my action did not create a dangerous situation, his action lead directly to my car being hit, my gf being hurt and who knows what else could have happened. What if it wasn't me but a child on a bike crossing that same street? It's a neighborhood of row homes where kids are out all the time. Maybe it's better that he hit me cause the way this a**hole was driving, something a lot worse could have happened.
All in all, I'm glad everyone is OK, that's the main thing. I kept a cool head with the situation. I know plenty of people that would have leveled this guy after his reaction.
As far as the language thing, let's not turn this topic into that debate because we'll run out of space to write and we won't get anywhere, but being from another country myself, getting a driver's license here is pathetically easy and can be done in multiple languages which I honestly don't understand either, Europe has a unified system of road signs that translate the same in all languages, here in the states a lot is written out like "stop, except right runs" or "no turn on red" or "do not pass" etc so imo English should be required to have a dl here but language wasn't an issue with my accident at all.
Take lessons from this, yes I will definitely be more mindful of 4 way stops, I'll anticipate other's actions because apparently I have to think for some of these morons on the road and everyone should have a dash cam.

And that is exactly why people hate the ambulance chasing lawyers. His rolling stop had zero to do with the wreck because it was a four way stop.
No the OP gets the benefit of the doubt in the crash, he did what 98% of Americans do and slowed down for a stop sign and gradually rolled through it after noticing there was no oncoming drivers so he continued and just slowing rolled it assuming the other driver at the distance will do the same and slow down (sadly not everyone deserves their license). The other guy didn't even bother slowing down for the stop sign, no care or regard and complete idiocty when he hit the G should've came out running and made sure other are okay and attempt to laugh the situation off but I agree I'm short tempered if someone hits me at their fault and come out yelling I'd beat at them and shove them in their car trunk.
Guys stop bashing The OP he did what we all still do (rolled through a stop sign) and if anyone here says they always stop fully at every stop sign is a liar, not even grandma Lucy stops fully in an empty street.
OP merry Christmas and hope you all the best time.

well although the op did not do a full complete "stop", the moron that smashed into his car completely "ran through" the intersection. so who would you consider the more dangerous and english illiterate person behind the wheel? btw try going down to mexico or central and south america and watch them people just barrel through an intersection with utter disregard for kids and whoever else is in the roadway or alongside the road. nothing against foreigners or immigrants, i immigrated here to the states too and was educated and grew up here. but the reality is you have new immigrants and foreigners who come to this country and bring their bad driving "style and habits" here with them. in addition to our brainless government which operates the dmv and allow every blind and english illiterate moron to take the drivers exam in every god damn language outside of english.
I've had a good quality dash cam for 3 years now, and thankfully haven't had to use it for evidence of who was at fault in an accident. But I'll tell you this - if I ever have to, I'm not going to say squat to a cop until the other guy gives his statement. I suspect jerks like Audi guy will probably try to lie their way out of a citation, that could mean a well deserved false statement charge once the video becomes evident.
I always come to a full stop at any stop sign, that wasn't always the case but it has been that way for at least 10 years. There's WAY too many drivers that are either too busy texting to obey the law, too stupid to drive properly, or just A-holes that don't give a chit. Much easier and safer just to fully stop, look both ways then proceed if no butthead is coming at you w/ no intention of slowing down. There's been at least a dozen cases where this has saved me from a collision in the last couple years.
