G37 sedan interior plastic noises
are the squeeks and rattles attributed to any panels or trims being removed to install aftermarket accessories? lots of times the clips or plastic fasteners are designed for one time use, meaning it was removed it will lose its structural integrity. sometimes you can dampen the squeeks and rattles with wool felt as started above. another great noise absorbing material is 3m strip calk, its a black sticky/tacky playdoo like substance that you can mold and shape and put behind trims and panels.
The creak in the passenger seat door may be one of the two plastic trim pieces along the bottom right side of the passenger seat. The floor mat on the passenger side can physically touch one (it covers the seat bolt), and for it, I set the mat up against it to prevent vibrating. The other peice runs lengthwise along the outside portion of the seat. It comes loose alot and needs to be 'pushed' back on place. Another helpful item to assist with squeaks in the center console is to take the passenger seatbelt connector assembly and push it down between the passenger seat and the center console.
The one I can't seem to tame is coming from the backseat/rear package tray. On the 1st gen, this one was common and all you needed to do was remove the seats and tighten the x-brace behind the seat. Worked like a charm. Not sure if that is still an issue on the third gen model. If so, I will make the dealer do it under warranty.
The sport suspension and worn tires was a bad combo for me. Once I replaced the tires, many squeaks/rattles went away.

I've had a go at these, and not had much luck yet. Can't find any loose trim at the bottom of the seat, and the belt receiver is already tightly wedged in there. What I did notice is I can wiggle the seat a bit, even though the bolts are tight. As for the back deck, I've tried stuffing a small rag in the understand and no luck. Gonna search the forum for more info. Thanks.
(Assume auto transmission)
- Pull shifter boot down away from shifter ****
- Pull out clip holding shift **** to shaft
- Remove shift ****
- Grab top of console via the opening for the shift boot and tug upwards
I think I also removed the very bottom piece of the center stack. FWIW, if you have creaking there, try to tighten the screws that hold the shiny plastic trim to the rest of the console top...they were loose on mind and the source of the squeaky noises. I also vampire spliced into the lighter wires and installed a hidden usb charger for my phone mount in this area.
