Oil change and starter question.

Hey everyone, glad to be on the board just joined today!

So I'm finally getting ready for winter and had a few questions in regards to changing my oil and whether or not I should get a starter for my G.

I've had my 2012 g37 sedan since May 2015 and it has 48 thousand miles on it. So far, I've done one synthetic oil change at the Infiniti dealership. They charged me about $100 for that and then said I needed a wheel alignment so I had to pay an additional fee which is fine. Now it's time for another oil change and I wanted to do it at Infiniti again so I can keep all of the records if I ever decide to sell, however my dad gave me a groupon for an OK Tire synthetic oil change and inspection therefore I wouldn't have to pay anything. What would you all do in my situation?

Next, I can get a 2 way car starter installed in my car from a reputable shop for about $450, has anyone else had a starter installed and had a good or bad experience?

Thanks so much guys!

Welcome to the site, glad you found us!
If the oil change shop has a good reputation then should be no problem going there, maybe they have some yelp reviews if you don't know firsthand.
As far as the remote starter, post that question in this folder~

If you or dad are mechanically inclined, do the oil change yourself. Synthetic oil + filter won't run you more than about $35-40. Oil changes are very easy to do on this car. There's a thread in the DYI section.

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, doing your own oil-changes would be it.

The long-term benefits of changing your own oil have been proved by scientists.

(and it's really not that difficult)

Check the brand of synthetic oil being used by OK Tires. If it's a mainstream brand (Mobil 1, Castrol, etc) with a good filter, let them do it. After that, get ready to do the changes yourself. As for the remote start, I'd give it a pass- your Infiniti has a complex electronic system that doesn't need to be fooled with.
