Agree, A blow dryer is much safer and most people will have one in the household with anyone with long hair has one. Not wanting to be sexist.

 

Don't even need a blow dryer. Floss and goo gone and you're done.

 

I just used floss to pull the letters off.

Used a eraser Wheel attached to my drill to remove the leftover adhesive

 

What's the big fear of using a heat gun. The point is you have to keep it moving. You can run run a heat gun across your forearm if you don't let it sit in one place, but a hair dryer on high you could keep there for a few seconds before it would feel too hot.

The same concept applies to heating up the badges. Keep the heat gun moving in a fluid motion and NEVER let it rest in one place. You achieve the same results as a hair dryer in a fraction of the time.

 

I used the hairdryer for maybe 30 seconds per letter, it's not like it's a big time saver using a heat gun.

 

You could also nail down a carpet tack with a sledgehammer. It will do the job, but you risk denting the floor.

^^That's awesome. I've only ever debadged one vehicle, my kawasaki concours 1400.

It had the word Kawasaki in raised letters on both sides of the upper fairing. Was a nightmare to get all the dead bugs out from there. Going in with a qtip got old after the first time.

 

So Has anyone got any pics of a de-badged G with the Mt. Fuji relocated to a more centered place?

Particularly a bigger Mt. Fuji.

Then of course, how you measured to center it and where you got the badge.

I've got a de-badge bug obviously.

This is a shop, not my actual car. But it probably addresses your question well enough.

 

I was able to remove mine by hand without any floss . It probably helped that the car was sitting in 95 degree Texas heat all day. The residue wiped off with a couple of cotton terry towels. Then, I broke out the orbital and threw some polish to get rid of any resemblances of etching from the letters.
