Extended Elite Protection - Warranty

So I just bought a 2013 G and my manufacturer warranty is up in Nov of 2016. The 100,000 mile extended warranty (through Infiniti not 3rd party) is $4,500. My car is at 19k miles and the current extended warranty offer is only valid while purchasing it under 20k miles, then it is prorated with less miles. Now I have the funds to do it, it could hurt but it is doable. My question is does the price seems a little bit too high? I was thinking half that just to get to 75k at least. Is this par for the course or should I shop it around to other infinit dealerships in the Bay Area? Or just save my money, pay off the remainder of my car note ($12k) and hope for the best knowing I'd probably go through independent auto repair shops should the trouble arise.

If you got a warranty how much did you pay for it?

Thanks

Roll the dice. I bought a 2011 CPO @ 11,000 with no extra warranties beside what the CPO offered, so far so good @ 22,000.

That is a ripoff. Keep your money. Even with major issues you'd be hard pressed to end up paying more than $4500 on repairs over the lifespan of the car.

You should be able to pick up that warranty for half. I was quoted $2140 (w/$100 deductible) for 96months/100K miles for my MY2012 with less than 20K miles.

I got my car a month ago with 24,500 miles (CPO 2012 6MT sedan). I bought it at Momentum Infiniti in Fairfield, since you're talking about the Bay Area. I'm assuming you mean the SF Bay Area, anyway...

I purchased the Infiniti Elite plan up to 120,000 miles with a 0 deductible. It goes through 2/2020, or 8 years total. It was $1854 with an added Costco discount. The finance manager said it was 150 or so over their cost, but who knows if that's true.

In any case, do NOT pay $4500 for it!

I paid $1600 for 5/60 $100 deductible and they waived the vehicle inspection. This was last month on my 2012 w/24k.
