BYE, bye G37, Hello SS
Yeah. I've thought about it. Even had it in my shopping cart one day. In the end I'd want it to be black, which is a costly option and that puts it at about $200. Too much for a non-functional part right now. But I agree it would clean it up in the front a bit.
Had my wife sit in a Camaro today and she didn't like the visibility. Her opinion will probably influence my decision. The 2016 SS or the 2017 ZL1 were on the list. Now I'm looking again. SS is kinda sweet, as is the ATS-V and CTS-V. Then there are the costs. The 2017 Q60 Coupe and the 2017 Genesis Coupe N-Type sound like they are great as well. Decisions!

Yeah - I was in the same place as you are now except I never seriously considered the 2015 Camaro. I test drove a new Mustang. It was ok... I wasn't blown away. I also looked at the BMW M235i. It's a beast but too small. Also looked into the Audi S5. The V's while sweet are out of my price range once you add all the stuff id want. The ATS-V coupe is very nice but not a whole lot more powerful than the SS - and the SS is lots cheaper.
I love Infiniti's, had three different ones over the past 9 years. the new coupe looks very cool.
IN the end I would say look at what comes on the SS standard and match it up against and S4, S5, M235i, M3, M5, Guilieta (sic), Q70, Genesis V8 sedan, AMG C-class, you will be hard pressed to find a car that matches up to the SS for the price.
I was loving you and this thread until I read this.

As a GM V8 owner since 1993, GM's automatics are f@cking terrible.
Sorry to see you destroy and otherwise perfect car with that terrible auto trans.
Other than that, you have bought an instant classic. Enjoy!
I highly recommend East Coast Superchargers for all advice and mail order business.
They are the best and have the best reputation in the GM community.
If they offer a custom centrifugal supercharger system for your SS Sedan, I would HIGHLY recommend it.
I will probably be buying the ALL NEW 2016 Camaro 1SS with the LT1 and new rev-matching stickshift as a new beater as I am waiting for the next gen SS Sedan to be built in the US on the Alpha chassis.
I want a 2016 SS, but I refuse to spend $47k on a 2008 Pontiac G8.
Even at $37k, I'd still have to buy a 2016 1SS Camaro with Magnetic suspension instead.
It drives me CRAZY that GM is too stupid to offer AWD on the SS Sedan and Camaro like Infiniti does with the G sedan/coupe.
With all due respect, the S4 with DCT and AWD absolutely BLOWS the SS Sedan away in every way for close to $50k...except in long term reliability. GM V8 cars are bulletproof.
I just refuse to ever own a Audi out of warranty.

Unfortunately, the visibility remains to be terrible, the back seat is unusable, and the interior/trunk room is a JOKE.
I told the Camaro engineers and designer to their faces that they are incompetent and have failed to design a great coupe, but have delivered a great Camaro.
If you are looking for a RWD+Stick sports coupe, you just can't beat the Camaro 1SS......especially for the money......but it still sucks as a daily driver due to the lack of visibility and room.
Dumbest post I have ever read on this site.
Everyone with a clue knows that Corvette, CTS-V, ATS-V, Camaro, Silverado, and Tahoe all absolutely DOMINATES all of their competitors.
I hate uneducated fan bois.
Corvette is only surpassed by the Porsche 911 Turbo PDK as a STREET COUPE.
But, when you consider you can't find a new Turbo on a lot for under $200k, the Corvette still dominates.

My '85 Camaro had the 700r4 AT in it. Fantastic transmission for an auto, especially considering it was the 80s. I sold it when it had a little over 180,000 miles on it and it would still chirp second gear.....

My tuner was tuning a bad (a)SS before my car and it made me think of this thread! It has a blower on there, I forget the exact model, but it made 550whp and was loud as f#$@ - made my car sound like a kitten!

Nice vids. Thanks! Kind of crude, but it's not like these guys have big money budgets. Comparing the two TC-off laps, the SS very clearly seems the more fun car to drive, as it should with all that torque in a big heavy car. Just as clearly, the Q50 is more precise.
Both would benefit with more fun from a 6MT. Duh.
"[the Q50] is almost a little too track-focused in some ways" LOL, no, that was a dumb comment.
"[the Q50] has very intrusive traction control". Well, he's not wrong about that.
Pretty lame drag race. It's like racing down someone's driveway.
