Removing Hood Liner (good or bad?)

I have a black g and i live in texas where it gets really hot. I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to remove my hood liner? Would my paint be messed up? I heard removing the hood liner makes then engine sound a little louder? true or not? also how do you remove the hood liner? Thanks Guys!

From what I've been able to gather, the hood liner removal mod will not harm your paint. It will just make your engine sound louder. The 370Z doesn't have one.

I removed mine so long ago when I installed my strut bar. All that does is keep the heat in and does keep the noise from coming out of the hood. Maybe 1-2db. Lol

I removed the hood liner too. Little louder. No real negative side effects.

It's held in place by little pop rivet things. It would be easy to put back on if you didn't like it.

Your choice. Neither good nor bad. It's just there for sound deadening.

I left mine simply because I have and intake setup in the bay using heat shields, the liner creates a seal with the rubber on top of the shileds and the intake stays quite a bit cooler that way, or at least according to the torque app.

Me too Choy, but when the car gets back it will get something new and fancy to make me contemplate the hood liner or not.
