Frontpipe question
Does anyone know if these are different?
Trying to figure out which frontpipes will fit a 2012 G37S ,
I was advised by another member that all the RWD 2nd gen G's (coupe and sedan) have the same frontpipe.
Just trying to confirm if that is correct, as from the website they are showing 2 different part numbers;

infiniti calls the Y pipe a front pipe;
I called a local dealer and they said the Sedan is JK and the coupe is LJ ... but made no reference to the AWD and RWD y-pipe being different;
I'm unsure how true this is;

I think it goes by engine, all DE y pipes fit all DE engined coupes sedans, both G and Z. Same thing for HR, it's a single Y pipe that fits 370z G37 coupe and sedan. I know we put the y pipe from my G on friend's Z and it fit. That being said, I'm not a mechanic so take this info with a grain of salt.

Are you sure the AWD and RWD Y-Pipes are different for sedans,
there's a guy selling a AWD 2010 Y pipe locally; I would buy it if it fits a 2012 RWD;
Judging by the picture he has, it looks identical?

Are you replacing the Y-Pipe? I honestly do not see the Y-Pipe being a weak link on these cars. On the Sedan, the mid-pipe seems to taper off near the end where it fits into noticeably smaller pipes around the axle that supply the mufflers.
My thinking is that they reduced the diameter of the piping as it exits the midpipe to reduce noise.
I think that a 60mm Y-back setup like Top Speed offers is probably the best bet for the sedan.

^i messed up my stock ypipe, ( first lowered car problems :/ ) .. no one had a local one for sale so i put a megan Y-pipe on for a quick fix...never again. the fitment was pretty terrible, and I think the exhaust is leaking again, which means, back to stock Y-pipe when I find a local one;
