ehh... not so much, in theory yes. There is quite a bit of a delay (or lag) when using the paddles, but when using the gear selector the time lag is reduced. I'm convinced the paddles have a lot of processor lag.
Can you quantify this lag for me? I've been trying to get an idea of the lag.
Is it longer than taking your hand off the wheel, pushing the shifter **** to DS, and then pulling back on it?

Fascinating. You don't anticipate things, you simply react and move on.
I manage traffic around me very stealthy, yes. The wife hates it. Absolutely I anticipate things... traffic way ahead and traffic way behind. Nothing is more funny on the road than watching someone from way behind wind through traffic like a boss, only to put themselves in a box and start yelling at everyone around them. Igits. LOL
But to your point, I don't drop the car into 3rd on the highway and simply hold high RPM's at highway speed all ready to dump the throttle. That would be weird.
Um, G37Xtreme, I'm kind of old. Been driving for 34 years.

I know what you mean. I'd rather have them mainly because I think the steering wheel and instrument cluster looks better with than without. Kind of looks bare without. The only times I use the paddles is when I'm out on a spirited dive and can anticipate when I'll need to be in a certain gear and I'll try to keep the rpm above 3k, seems to be most responsive between 3k and 6.5k, at least with the mods I have right now.
