Is this service worth it?
Is this service worth it?
So I just hit 80k miles. And coincidentally just made my last payment this month.
I'm debating keeping or selling it;
I have. 2010 g37x. The dealership said they will do the following for $1000.00:
Front and rear diff oil
Xfer case flush
Tranny flush and filter change
Engine oil filter
Brake fluid
Coolant and cap
Basically all oils in the vehicle, worth it?

Not exactly too bad for dealer work for so many items but a bit to the steep side. See if you can squeeze more items in such as tire rotation, air filter, belt, spark plugs, etc. If you are handy with tools, many of the items are simple diy
All you really need is brake fluid and an oil change. Even Schedule 1 maintenance (more severe) doesn't call for all of the work at 80k miles. Spark plugs and coolant is at 105k miles. Tranny fluid is designed to last the life of the car and is not recommended to be serviced at any time, of course the dealer will do it regardless and charge you though. Differentials and transfer case are also not on the scheduled maintenance that goes up to 120k miles. No reason to do all of this "extra" maintenance if you are considering getting rid of the car.

If you find a reputable dealer, stick with them.
if it was my money and i was keeping the car, i would do (or would have already done) all the fluid changes listed above, plus power steering. i'd also make sure the air and cabin filters were fresh. the only difference is i would not go to the dealer for this routine maintenance. these are basic services that can be DIY or done by any reputable service centre. even better, i would buy all my own fluids (OEM or better) and pay the service centre for labour only if i didn't want to DIY.
as for the belt; get it checked out. at 80k miles it's probably time to get it done. it's an inexpensive service so i'd be doing it soon if it was my car. i usually do mine every ~5-6 years given my car's service life and local temperate climate.

I found a local shop who's willing to do it for $500.00
Side note: I called another infiniti dealer and was quoted $1750.00 I asked the svc manager if he offers free lube or goes in dry, because I wouldn't be able to walk straight for 3 days if I payed $1700.

I'd go straight to google right after that phone call. 1700 bucks though? SMH!
