Burning smell from driver side
Burning smell from driver side
So I just got back and started driving my car around and noticed a burning smell from the driver side area and a rubber/plastic burning smell. I didn't notice this prior to installing the swifts. Have any of you guys with Swifts experienced this? I saw smoke yesterday after driving around and thought it could have been my new fog bulbs but I left the lights on and the car running for like 25 min and saw nothing. WTF could be causing this? My local dealer can't get me in until next Friday either.
Plastic bag stuck to your exhaust gets my vote. Also check the bulbs closely by turning them on and letting them burn for a while and then removing the wheel and sticking your head up close to them and looking/smelling. If it's them, you'll know by doing ti this way.

I'm experiencing something similar. There's a sharp burning smell occasionally while driving around town (only with windows down), I traced it back and noted that it's only after braking. I just had a track event recently on these rotors/pads, so I'm guessing it's extra pad material that got deposited to the rotors burning off.
