That seems to be it, i actually never thought it was the seatbelt clip lol, sounded farther then that. I tapped it and can hear a spring or something loose inside where the driver side doesn't have the sound. Guess im making a trip to the dealer...

I have bionic hearing, so I've heard this same sound in a half dozen or so 2009+ models (i.e. loaners and current car).

Unfortunately, the dealers I've had look at the issue do not share the same bionic hearing, so I have not been able to get this resolved.

Is that the piece where the seat belt buckles into?

I still have this damn rattle and it only happens now when I accelerate - doesn't matter if I am accelerating hard or not.

I had my car at the dealer today and told them and they found a nut fell off my exhaust and was causing the rattling. Thought that fixed it but apparently it didn't.

AH HAH!! I just had this exact same problem that was driving me nuts! My car sounded like a hoopty and so I just turned the music up to ignore it. I put it up on a lift and realized it was the shield behind the brake rotor. It was happening on my driver's side. I just pulled /bent the shield towards the strut a bit and it went away! Thump it with a finger to see if it makes the noise you are hearing.

My 2011 G37xS had the same issue. Now resolved.

Not sure if I'm late to the party or not, but I had this same issue and got it resolved last week at the dealer.

On rough roads, or even going over sewer caps, I would heard what sounded like a coffee can full of marbles rattling around in the front right end. After taking my 2011 G37xS to the dealer to get it checked out, I was informed that a good amount of gravel had gotten trapped behind the brake backing plate. The dealer removed the plate and cleaned it out under my extended warranty. No muss, no fuss.

All is well now. No more noise. Hope this helps!
