I agree with everyone who is against the additional warranty. These cars are very reliable and many of the normal maintenance and upkeep you will need on the car won't be covered anyways. Insurance in general is only valuable for events that would be financially catastrophic (huge medical bills, totaled car from an accident, house fire, etc.). If you save the money that you would otherwise spend on additional warranties on cars and electronics, you will come out ahead in the long run. You may spend some significant money on replacement and repairs a few times in your life, but not as much as if you purchased an extended warranty for all of these items.

I guess a warranty might be worth it for people who have no savings and are unable to handle an unexpected repair, but, in that financial situation, you probably shouldn't be buying a G37 anyways.

 

I only support aftermarket warranties if you are buying a vehicle that legitimately could have a massive repair and in that case a deductible is less than a fix.

Buying a 2007 Volkswagen Toureg V10 TDI is a good example. Just to do an alternator on that vehicle requires the engine to be out. That is a $3,000 expense all on its own.
