Why was a Sedan your choice?
I got mine because of many reasons, but overall I wanted a luxury performance car that could remind me I was a kid at heart, while having the convenience of 4 doors. Oh and to carry 4DSC tradition on as well as I once owned an 04' Maxima.
OK, I looked too and at over 3 posts per day you’re not quite a post *****. So you're probably in the other category where you regret your G37 choice and need further reassurance. In that case you’re right, I should have ignored this thread.
As to why I bought my G37, all I can say is I answered that question years ago in a similar thread, if you want to go back that far.

And that is only because of the drivetrain set up I chose.
I see a common statement made that the sedan is "faster" than the coupe. I understand this is a moot point due to the negligible differences in weight and power, but I guess it rubs me the wrong way since the information I found does not support this statement. I ran the numbers posted by Infiniti and I don't see an instance where an equivalent sedan comes out with a better lb/hp ratio. It is more likely that manufacturing differences in actual hp output, or driver weight, would bear more significance, but I wanted to post this as a reference or point of discussion. I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't see how this could be a reasonable factor in purchasing a sedan, or a coupe.
Hopefully this helps.
RWD:
Sedan: 3628 lbs / 328 hp = 11.06 lbs/hp
Coupe: 3633 lbs / 330 hp = 11.01 lbs/hp
AWD:
Sedan: 3822 lbs / 328 hp = 11.65 lbs/hp
Coupe: 3834 lbs / 330 hp = 11.62 lbs/hp

Hopefully this helps.

j/kHere's my reply J, must've sped by this one

I'm easing into my midlife crisis so the sedan seemed to be a good way to go...
I love the car, in some ways it was, and sometimes still is, a hard transition coming from the TrailBlazer which had loads of room. I don't really cart around too many people too often but at times I have directors or VPs in the car so the four doors was critical after having a VP clothesline himself getting out of my old Monte Carlo. Do I often need the room? Nope but I need it often enough that a coupe wouldn't have worked at all.

A lot late here lol , but im choosing mine because I want to stay with Infiniti and the performance of the car and take my family out in my car sometimes . I'm actually leaving a coupe for the sedan .
An I guess to the talk about the sedan being faster?it is!. My I,An E coupe could pull at all on my wife's sedan if she got the jump she'd pull on me. I couldn't pull on her till I got tuned!
BTW yes the wife a CAN drive !

Shame that GM killed Pontiac. They had created a nice formula for car enthusiasts by moving the various Holden models into the US (their marketing sucked badly though). Both the G8/GXP and GTO have a cult following, so you wont find one used for cheap that you'd want to own (like another poster mentioned, most have been dogged and modded). I think if I was to convert to a coupe from a sedan, it would be for fun as aftermarket support is much better for coupes. Personally, I would have to give the Mustang a try as it's a nice looking car, plus good used ones are cheap and plentiful (lots of reminiscent older folks buy these and baby them, then sell after the novelty wears off). Aftermarket support is unlimited for the mustang. One caveat however is insurance as the mustang is pricey to insure.
And by the way, these redundant threads are far more interesting to me as compared to the "why are you dissapointed in your G" ones.

LS2 in the GT, LS3 in the GXP.
Come on, man. There's more to it than then. Previous car was a BWM 7 Series, right? Except for the four door, these are completely different cars.
I hear that. I find myself obsessing over retirement funds lately, asking myself, will I always be able to own a car that I enjoy as much as the one I have now? Suppose the trick is to try and enjoy the moment and what makes you happy right now, instead of growing old and crotchety... Like some.

I agree plus who says that you will live to be 70+ to enjoy your retirement.
I might get shot at walking the street tomorrow, or get into a horrible accident on my motorcycle, or one day decide that life isn't worth living anymore and shoot myself.
point is you never know when it's your time to go...
Get what you want today (if you can afford it)
Ive had both and liked them equally for different reasons. have the vert now and like it for the fact the top comes off! Kicks the moon roof up 20 notches! I do miss trunk space and internal cabin storage but if i want to haul something i get my wife's EX and fold the seats down.
I think the main similarity I see in these posts as to why ppl chose the sedan is 1. they have kids, 2. the extra space of having 4 doors. To me honestly the g37 sedan is a small sedan so as far as space goes if thats really what you were looking for then I would go m45/56 or something equivalent. Has the power and even more space than a g37. I am 6'1 and having driven the sedan I wouldn't want anyone behind me because there still isn't enough space unless its like a 5'3 female or something not a grown 6'0 plus male, which if your hauling your buddies around is going to be the case. I think most can agree that the coupe is just stunning and hands down looks better than the sedan. Also few mods to the coupe, a drop, tint will make it look that much better. I don't think the same can be said for the sedan, it has to be more than a drop and tints, probably wheels with aggressive fitment etc. I have no kids and thought the coupe was drop dead gorgeous when side by side with the sedan. So for me it was a no brainer to go with the coupe. I think if a lot of you didn't have kids, you would be coupe owners. Hopefully no one takes offense but just stating my opinion on this coupe vs sedan matter.

My goal is to keep the G for quite some time. I had the TrailBlazer for 7 years and had just a little over 60k on it. I'm definitely driving the G more often but am not driving cross-country (okay, PA) as often. I'm thinking I have another 23 / 25 years of work ahead of me so I'll continue to save and load in my 401k but I am also thinking a little more seriously about trying to retire abroad.
Anyway, the only thing I wish for is a little more trunk space. I may check out the M at some point or look into a used SUV. For right now, I'm loving the Sedan. Going to take advantage of the warmer weather today to get a run in and take a cruise with the windows down and sunroof open.
The 6MT Sedan was a natural choice for me. I've driven Nissans as my personal car for the last 22 years: 240SX Coupe 5MT, 1999 Maxima SE 5MT, 2003 Maxima SE 6MT.
And I agree with the opinion that the Coupe has much better looks than the Sedan, however the RWD Sport Sedan also stands out as special. And with a few mods, any model G Sedan can do the same.
I concur rochester with your statement regarding the rwd sport sedan, those things are amazing. But just to show you, how many rwd sedan owners are there here, you are one of the very very few. If I had to go sedan I would have it no other way than getting a 6spd rwd. Like you my last few cars were maximas, 99 auto, 03 6mt w/ lsd.
