Why was a Sedan your choice?
The only problem I have with your statement is that this info is based off of tha fact that the sedan makes 328 while the coupe makes 330. I have seen multiple dyno pulls that can't solidly prove the hp difference of a sedan & coupe. So I would add that the reason why Infiniti says the sedan makes 328hp is to also say that the coupe still has a better power to weight than the sedan even though the coupe is heavier. The ecu maps are the same.
Also, the numbers I posted are to shed light on another fact, one that is less debatable. Let's say the coupe and sedan each have 330hp, the weight difference in the RWD model is only 5 pounds. This still isn't anything to write home about. I can understand saying I bought the sedan because I need more functionality, but certainly not because it weighs 5 pounds less.
Finally, where does this 2 horsepower come from? My best guess is the exhaust system. The systems are VERY different between the 2 cars and they probably designed the coupe to be slightly more free flowing for a slightly more audible output. It is extremely unlikely you will notice a 2hp difference by watching dyno pulls. Minor differences in manufacturing of the engines will make hp variances more significant than that.
Haha, wow. On the Sedan forum, no less.
In your defense, it's true that automotive preferences are personal and subjective. But in the context of majority opinion and the community here of mostly supportive and like-minded people, yours isn't worth a jar of ****.
Troll much?

Oh yeah I love my crew cab truck, couldn't live without it!
Now that resonates with me. Darn all of you sedan owners! Here I was 99% sure after test driving about 8 different cars that a G37 Coupe was it ... and I still have that lingering 1% telling me I really need to give the Sedan a chance. Then I read this thread...
Well at least it's an opportunity to drive more cars
My history is from an '89 5 speed Maxima SE ... a couple beaters to get out of debt ... and then my current ride, a 2000 Audi A4 5 speed 1.8T Quattro. Although our car situation is different now (3 cars: my Audi, 2000 crew cab Ford Super Duty diesel, 2006 Outback turbo for the wife and family) and I can make the Audi replacement a bit impractical (coupe) I still like the 4DSC "heritage."
Now I need to find a G37S 6MT to try out for myself....

Is that Puse or Torrid Red? My friend had the Torrid Red...he liked to take it to the drag strip, but couldn't get it to hook up...It suffered from massive wheel hop due to the set-up of the independent rear suspension...So he sold it and got a Mustang GT....
I love that color. Here's a nice one for sale online: AutoTrader Classics - 2005 Pontiac GTO Coupe Red 8 Cylinder Automatic | Modern Performance | Grand Rapids, MI
I should have gotten one of these instead of the 2004 G35 as it would have held almost all of its value.

Here is my Reason for Choosing a Sedan:
Being in my senior year in high school in 2006, i was looking at the 2006 Maxima sedan but still couldn't afford it, hence being in high school. I start college and see the 07 G35 Sedan pop and i really didn't fall for it at first. Being the young adult i was, i drooled over the coupe and started saving for the right time to buy one. By my third year and working several jobs, i had enough to buy a used Coupe, as i still couldn't afford to get it brand new. But by that time, the look of the sedan started to grow on me and the fact that i was planning on how the car would serve in the future (i currently have two kids). The extra doors sure make my life a whole lot easier and just think the sedan looks more like a classy sports car. Now being where i am today, glad i didnt get the coupe because of the need to drive my clients around (I am a Realtor) and it looks more professional then pulling up in a 2 door sports car). Sorry for the long post but i am just so darn happy i have a Sedan

My statement is based off of facts because thats the best information available. Everyone is going to have personal experiences that sway their opinion, so Infiniti's numbers are the best available for comparison. Even though these are the best numbers to compare, it doesn't mean that this is 100% accurate.

& let me hit u with some more facts that affect speed just as much as power & weight, did u know that the sedans drag coeffiecient is better than the coupes? The sedans D.C. is .29 compared to the coupes .31
My argument is not to say that the sedan is faster or a better sports car. The FACTS are that the numbers say the sedan should be faster. But in real life situations it's probably not. But this is one reason why I chose a sedan because when I see a coupe on the street(especially a sport coupe or a vert), I just picture a fat cow with the same power I'm putting out. Of course I'm exaggerating with the cow statement but you get my point.

The only facts in your statements are the weight differences in the vehicles. But u can get a 100 pound difference very easily. A journey sedan is almost 100 pounds lighter than a sport coupe. A journey sedan is the lightest g u can buy.

All I am saying is that, even taking the two horsepower out of the equation, two hundredths better drag coefficiency and five pounds doesn't seem like it would change my mind. It seems more like validation than a reason.
Factors I can understand is: I drive clients, I have kids, I don't like the heavy and long doors, I don't hate my friends and get satisfaction stuffing them in the back seat like sardines, the sedan appeals to me more aesthetically, I like having the ability to actually store things in my trunk, you know... things that are a little more undeniable and quantifiable.
If you honestly bought the sedan more the 5 pound weight drop and the two hundredths better drag coefficiency, more power to you, that's dedication to performance. We're all still a community so I'll still give you a thumbs up as you blow by me and my coupe on the interstate, lol.

However, aesthetically the sedan grew on me while I always liked the look of a coupe. Nothing beats the *** of the coupe

& be careful, us sedans are sleepers !
I use to love the coupe but one day I tried to get out of one and it was a battle so I promise myself never will I buy a coupe, and I was afraid if ever I was married the wife would get me to sale the coupe for a minivan lmao.
( you guys remember the nissan maxima commercial) one of the reason why i got the sedan lol

I had endless issues with my Saab. I thought it was all fixed, and on my way home from work on a Friday night, the dreaded "Service XWD" light came on again. At that point I've had it and started looking for a new car. Over the weekend I've looked at some Acura TSX, Acura TL, and BMW 323. The TSX is gutless, but cheap on gas, the TL SH AWD (manual) seemed blah, uninspired and slow considering HP rating, and the BMW, well very spartan.
It was a long weekend, so I couldn't continue.
I took the following Tuesday off work, to look more cars. I've looked at a couple of BMWs but the dealers would not negotiate on the price. Frustrated, I pulled out my tablet and searched again for more cars. That's when I came across the G37. I was so fed up I thought I'll take a look if everything checks out I'll give the dealer no BS offer and that's it.
So that day I bought the sedan, and because I needed a family vehicle. I was never really looking at coupes, just because I have two kids. It's perfect for family hauling, and since it's auto, my wife can drive it too. Overall, I needed a reliable family car, that won't be scraping the bottom like the Saab. I couldn't take the Saab to my brother-in-law's place, it was always scraping the exhaust at the entrance to the parking lot.
The bonus is that I still got to keep the Saab, it turned out to be a silly solenoid that needed replacement.
