Can anyone tell me what this sound is?
Not to alarm anyone, but i just had a whole bunch of stuff fixed as a result of oil gallery gasket failure. They not only replaced the cover, but also the timing chain, tensioners and guides (said they looked worn) and the camshaft sproket, cover assembly and VTC solenoid on the oil-starved side.
On the ride home i opened it up and...no squealing noise. I'm kinda wondering if the leaky gasket wasn't affecting oil pressure to the secondary timing chain tensioner causing the chain to scrape on the guides at high RPM.
So, don't panic, but, y'all might wanna get your oil pressure checked.
