Weather Controls (Delay/Lag)

Hi all,

I attempted to search for this question/concern but was not able to locate anything. I started up my car today and went to turn up the heat and I noticed that there is a lag/delay when I use any of the weather controls. For example. If I want to switch the mode I press it once and it takes 3-5 seconds to switch. It reminds me of a PC that is running low on memory and starts to slow down/lag. All controls from the weather display are acting the same way (increasing temp, turning climate control on/off etc.). I have 2012 G37X Sport Sedan. Has anyone ever come across this situation before? I also called Infiniti and asked if this will be covered by warranty and they said "the technician will have to check"? whats up with that. Isn't this something that should be covered?

Thanks

It should be covered, to me it sounds like processor lag. A simple ECU reset may take care of it, but I'm not sure.

I have the exact same issue and I have a '12xS.. Seems to fix itself when you turn off the car and turn it back on. Definitely annoying for sure.

I had the same problem a while back. My dealership fixed it by replacing the processor control module and applying some software TSB, both covered under warranty. I'm not sure which fixed the problem, but I haven't had any issues since. Check my thread below for more info. Good luck.

Sweet bro. Thanks for the help. I drove the car yesterday and the issue was resolved. No problem at all. I am not sure if this is a one time issue or if it will continue. I cancelled the appt to the dealer but I am thinking I will go back in with your thread and fix that worked for you and tell them to check out everything. Is the software update something only that the dealer can do? Or is there a way we can update the software?

Thanks

My car did it randomly and intermittently. I could never figure out what caused it, and it never went away completely on its own. It always came back, so don't be surprised if it happens again.

I couldn't find any information on the software update they said they installed, but I took there word on it since whatever they did fixed the issue. I'd imagine the dealership has to do it for you though.
