Yeah, they mentioned the pop up headlights in that article. I never knew that. Change is scary- BOO!

I got a good laugh out of it though as most of the complaints are coming from very old owners who seem to be rather set in their ways: https://carbuzz.com/news/old-school-...dy-hate-the-c8
I don't recall mopar heads protesting the 1981 Dodge Charger. Then again, snazzy little car, LOL.

They should have burned down the Dodge plant for that atrocity. I do remember Mustang fans being pretty pissed about the Mustang II, and rightfully so. But those cars were all drastic changes for the worse. This new Corvette should be nothing short of awesome and who doesn't like awesome?

The C8 won't have a manual transmission? OMG, that's so wrong.

Under 60k pricetag for base model. Competes with the new Supra. Going to be interesting how the driving dynamics are.

That long button-bar in the cabin is a unique and interesting design, I like it. The tablet glued to the dashboard... hate that.

No hand-brake. And ignoring the lack of a proper transmission, note there's no console shifter either, just flappy paddles on the column.

Every angle on the car is appealing, except the rear. The rear is a hot mess.

< $60k USD is amazing for a world-class (?), mid-engine sports car that can clock under 3 seconds 0-60.

That is an interesting comparison, but the Corvette is a full second faster to 60 and mid engine so it should run circles around a Supra, especially once the Z06 and ZR-1 models debut.

That is an awesome analogy, but I agree with Rochester- the back end of the C8 is awful compared to the current car.

It's a supercar looking car for under 60k. 90% of the time, people won't know how much it costs and would assume you are ballin. It's like a Chrysler 300. People who don't know any better think its some crazy expensive car like a Bentley if it's done up nicely. I think this is going to be very successful despite the fanboy tears.

My first new car was a 1986 Dodge Shelby Charger Turbo. Quick enough. Had great handling though rebound damping was too high. It was built to a price-point and it showed but I still enjoyed it.

Obligatory G37 sedan content: see my sig.

Yup, I think they will sell a ton of these. I feel like in order to have a successful sports car you have to appeal to 2 groups of people and they couldn't be more different- old guys & enthusiasts (and I guess enthusiast old guys ). On the one hand you need a car that rides comfortably and fits a set of golf clubs while looking fast and sounding cool. On the other hand you need a car that actually accelerates, brakes, and handles on a world class level. Not many cars do this well, but the Corvette has always seemed to manage this.

I don't mean to pull rank here, but the guys here and I have talked about it and we would like you to try a little harder to stay on topic with your content.
