xpcgamer, thanks for the pics, looks like you have that dialed in perfectly, drop looks great
Don't think I'd go any lower as the Tein spec sheet is pretty specific about how low to go, looks like you're right at that point

Yes Black Gloss on the rear lower. Local shop did it for 75 bucks.
I installed a redline leather shift boot over the weekend. Perforated Nappa leather with silver stitching, cut 3/4" shorter than stock.
As is typical in my experiences, quality was top notch. However, I suspect they are using the G35 design and didn't update it for the G37. The shifter surround has 4 clips, a screw, and probably a dozen little tabs. The tabs locate and hold the boot in place, the clips and screw secures it. My boot only had the locating tabs, so I had to cut the clips and screw holes. I didn't do the best job on the screw hole, but you can't notice it.
On the plus side, the leather is a little thicker, so it brings the shifter up a little higher, which is good.
I've ordered a couple vinyl samples to maybe wrap the shifter surround and cover up the shift pattern. If I ultimately decide to go that route, I'll probably order another shift boot since I'll have to pull everything apart to wrap it.

Gee Rochester, thanks for pointing that out
But seriously, you're right. There are a couple things going on at the back of the boot and the assembly on the underside. There is too much excess material to fit exactly straight back. Its hard to explain
I might be able to work that out a bit better.

I still think the boot looks great, Lego. Any time you can do a mod that looks OEM, but better than OEM, it's a win.

I'm even a little jealous. I'd like to do something customized with my boot, too. But the stone leather color scheme really makes me feel like my options are limited.

Hmm. For only $15, I might just order their sample kit:
Boot Questions for Lego
Lego, I've taken the shift-boot assembly off the center console, and after removing the single front screw underneath, the little silver trim & boot separates from the larger assembly. It looks like the black boot-retainer ring on the bottom is held in with four built-in clips. Those are pretty sturdy clips... were you afraid of snapping them? I am.
It seems the leather (vinyl) would have five holes, one for each of the four clips, and one larger hole for the front post that supports the attachment screw. Is that a fair assessment?
I see now how the center spacer/washer thing works to hold the leather tabs on the center ring with a zip-tie. That makes sense. Did your new RedLine Goods boot come with four little leather tabs to wrap around the inside of this plastic ring?
Dude, I have greater respect for your boot replacement effort now. There are details here that make this project more than simple plug & play.

You see all those little rivets going around the trim? Use a small flat head screwdriver and the base will break off. I could find no way to remove them without breaking them. They don't seem to actually do anything, and the nipples that remain will still position the boot. It's the 4 tabs, screw, and other clipy "thingy" next to the screw that hold the assembly together.
In fact, it's the other "thingy" (the square hole to the right of the screw hole) that prevented me from getting it lined up because that is where the stitching comes together.
I contacted redline and I'm sending them my boot to revise their template.
Thanks, man. I've replaced the boot in my last 4 MT cars and this was the most difficult of them all.

BTW, the stitching isn't aligned to center, either.
