Sedan Chat Thread
Yeah, I know. Coming from a g35 coupe back a few years ago I had much higher expectations for the performance of the 328hp hr motor. But when my tuner told me..that's all you're gonna get NA..kinda just turned me off to modding it even more.
Definitely a pretty fun, solid vehicle, but for the amount of money I've put in, I could have had something way more desirable for my every day needs. I want a track car, and a daily all in one, and the G just hasn't been it for me.
The air suspension has been pretty awesome I will say, and it makes pretty logical sense for everyday driving, but I probably won't be doing it again. The m3 will be getting a sweet suspension too, just a little more realistic to what the car needs.
I'll be around though! I am getting married in a couple of weeks so the timing of selling a car is just not right. But it'll slowly be coming apart and the money will be going toward the M.

Charlotte, BAC maybe? I do roughly the same, analytics and predicative modeling for JPM. My co-workers dont understand my car, with massive 13" subs in the trunk, and all the other mods. I rememeber speaking about our high school experiences, and everyone talked about how they just played video games all the time. I spoke about drinking beer, and skipping school........I know they must be mad we have the same lot in life, hahaha.
IDK, I read theses descriptions:
XT970: Track dedicated/No compromise - for the dedicated track car.
XT960: Track duty with adequate street capability- Good for HPDE and the Open Track Driver who drives to the track.
XT910: Street pad with light track ability - Good for a new HPDE Driver and spirited driving.
Since XT970 and XT960 pads are formulated for track/high temperature use, using them on the street may result some unfavorable situations such as brake squeal, dirty wheels, less brake friction at cold temperatures, and excessive rotor wear. For street driving, we recommended that you swap to our ET series pads.
I'd be concerned about two things: are you ever going to get the pads up to operating temperature to recognize their benefits?
Two: Are they going to squeal obnoxiously when not up to operating temperatures?
Have you checked out Endless Brakes and Project Mu?

And that's the part that has me pause for second thought just a little. I've already got some pad material built up on the rotors with the ET500's...a few stand on the pedal stops from highway speed will do that so I've most likely already exceeded the temperature range of those pads.
I'm not too concerned with squealing and I've read some reviews that once they're properly bedded, there's no noise at all.
I haven't looked beyond RB's pads for these rotors because I've heard some horror stories with other pads on their rotors so I'm somewhat resigned to stay in the family because they seem to be paired exceptionally well.
So I'm looking for a greater degree of performance than the ET500's offer. I don't think it will be much of a problem to get them to operating temperature. I'm somewhat used to it with the ET500's already...when stopping from highway speeds, I usually lightly apply the brakes to warm them up a bit, release and then reapply and then they bite quite nicely.
I will probably speak with them again on the subject but they said I shouldn't have any issues. I tend to be a little bit more on the extreme end of what I'm willing to tolerate with regard to annoying quirks, or tradeoffs versus performance, because racing in my blood.
Been MIA again and I see Alex is leaving us for an M3
congrats brotha and while he's parting out I'm just adding more things to the G. Check out my new CF Duckbill Trunk I added over the weekend.

Tomorrow... vert cradle braces go on the car.
Will I notice a tighter turn-in or sharper low-speed steering? Will the handling dynamics be affected even a little bit to where I notice it and appreciate anything that's changed?
Probably not, but worth a shot.

What do you mean? It still is a classy ride. I just added to the sex appeal. The duckbill is very subtle unlike that sedan from Texas.
But hey if you don't like it, I'm cool with that. We are each entitled to our own opinions. I like it, it adds a little more character.

I was wondering what the status on those was.
I'm curious as to how it changes the handling dynamics or if it just makes the car feel more solid.

It's not all bad. For one, your selection of rims, brakes, calipers and lugnuts are very, very appealing. And you clearly take excellent care of the car. On top of that, you're a good contributing member here, which is way more important than random opinions.
It's a hobby, and you're having fun with the car. That's something I can relate to.

I like the look of it.....like blewt said...would like to see a pic straight on from the back. Looks like your just needing the CF diffuser to complete your look....only thing thats killing me is that gawd awful sticker on your fuel door. Theres always gonna be haters but the sticker is just unescessary IMO and takes away from your look.
the more I look at that bella trunk the more I want it, but like many have said I don't think I could pull off the CF even with my CF diffuser...
Might have to go FG then take it with my CS conversion bumper to a shop to get it painted and installed.
I am getting ready to PCS to Langley AFB, VA at the end of July and there are a lot more import friendly shops along with shops that work with aftermarket parts so I m going to wait till I get down there to install my new bumper, lip, and hopefully trunk.
oh and also air lol
I like the new trunk Zo
