well its kinda like a dark rootbeer color i m not crazy about it

but i will have them mounted this weekend and we will see how they look under the sun light then we'll go from there. right now i m trying to decide which spacer i want to run lol

 

I don't start drinking until I know I'm through the woods. I'll never forget the time I installed my BBK on my 350z 12 years back and got so tipsy during that I forgot to tighten down the lugnuts.

 

Rotor install went smooth. Only snag I ran into is when I dropped one of the hitch pins and could not find it. Went out for lunch, bought some extra hitch pins, came back and found the one I dropped . Good times. Glad to be rid of the brake judder I've be dealing with the past few weeks (screw you oem soft rotors). A glass of bourbon and now some cold ones well deserved right now.



Hopefully tomorrows coilover install goes just as well.

What kind of rotors did you go with? And refresh my memory, what pads?

I'm at 24K, and a full brake upgrade is somewhere on the not-too-distant horizon for me.

Congrats on the DIY install. Gotta respect that.

But why did you install the rotors so that the slots are swept forward, instead of being swept back? That looks somewhat odd.

 

Stoptech sport rotors with OEM pads. When I track my car I swap them out with whatever flavor of the month pad I feel like using (ebc yellowstuff last time). Went with slotted rotors because they are inherently better than drilled and I trust them more on the track.

I've heard about the vanes inside the rotor, that direction only matters with respect to whether or not the vanes are straight or at an angle, irregardless of the slot design. So... the vanes in the model you bought are directional?

 

Apparently yes. From what I read stoptech says it doesn't matter which way you face them. I just stuck to what the sticker said on the rotor (L and R) and called it a day.

 

That doesn't seem like your M.O. You must have been seriously tired.

No need to get up in a tizzy when things are done right. I love it when aftermarket manufacturer's do their proper R@D thus selling me a product worth the price they are asking. Besides, I needed my rest because tomorrow will definitely be more challenging.
