I could say the same about you since you seem to have a certain affinity towards me but hey, at least it makes for good (well, not really good, but somewhat interesting) banter.
I will be using them with a lightweight wheel and there is no point in going -6lbs on wheels and +7lbs on tires.
EDIT: just called. "if it is not on the site, they don't have it atm"
That's way too subjective, and weirdly personal, too.
Some better questions, with more of a bite to them:
This is just off the top of my head. I'm sure other people can come up with similar questions.
Some better questions, with more of a bite to them:
- Do you routinely launch the car as hard as you can out of the hole? The reasons are immaterial... for the fun of it, street racing, drug smuggling.
rarely
- Do you normally hear the tires screech when you pile into a turn?
no
- How many times a day do you curse out loud and say, "Goddamn Understeer!"?
never lol
- When you come to a highway ramp, is it a game to see if you can take it at twice the posted speed?
guilty

I dunno. The X makes it tough. Maybe I'll go with a FD after allI want to talk about my mods now dammit. Turns out the SPL end links may not fit my front after all. Maybe not... I need to try and take a look at a rwd side by side with mine to get a better sense of whether I can make it work. Fortunes are going on next weekend but i think I'm too low already.
Planning on adding an ARC oil catch can as soon as the GB fills up and ships. Dunno if I need it but I think I want it.
Unless they daily commute to DC or some equally annoying metropolitan area.
I'm somewhat okay with the auto with the Memphis traffic in all honesty. But RWD would have been much better and easier to get parts for. An FD would be more fun anyway.
In here, it's mostly traffic with potholes and uneven surfaces.
The local rent a sports car for a day has all dual clutch thingys. Ive heard of renting a viper in Vegas, but I don't think any mainstream car rental company offers manuals.
I may have miswritten. I meant to say that I could see there is fun in driving a manual in the states, since the streets have nice pavement and there is lots of highway driving. I have never rented a manual.
Yes...I mean if I'm going to spend the dough to upgrade, I want it to be a worthy upgrade.
For me, that infotainment system is a flaming hot mess. That would annoy me, daily. I'm also not huge on the touch screen because fingerprints everywhere. On ours, I don't have to use the touch screen unless I want to. I'm a little old school when it comes to that, I will concede. However, I do know that we're unlikely to see a major revamp of the physical UI, but we can hope for some smoothing out of the software UI.
Also, I think the power train can be improved. If I'm going to spend ≈ $45-50k I'm hoping to see a smaller V6 engine in the neighborhood of 3.0 liters, twin snails huffing into that engine which would give us moar torque, moar power, and better fuel economy. Let's be honest, I'm not going to make huge nits about fuel economy but when you've done 90,000 miles in 4.5 years of ownership, it adds up in the TCO equation. My cumulative fuel expense for my car thus far is $15,090.44. With that being said, if I'm going to have to shell out significantly more than the $35k I paid for my loaded G, I'd like to see cost of operation decrease a bit, and that's only going to come with a next gen power train that may or may not include a hybrid option. I would also like to see a dual clutch automatic with > than 7 gears for better cruising fuel economy. The system in the Q80 concept is rumored to return 42 mpg highway. Granted we won't see 550 hp of output in the Q50 but I would hope that it would offer in the neighborhood of 400hp / 350tq.
I used to be a stickler for 6MT only, but with the amount that I drive, I would get annoyed by it. So that's my wish list.

I follow every single thing you're saying there. The only difference is that I only put about 5000 miles per year on the car. So I'm not in next-car mode, not for a long while yet. I figure about 4 years from now, I'll be thinking about it a more and more. And then probably not move on it until two years after that. However, when I do think about it, I keep coming back to the idea of buying a used car of something that I wouldn't go for otherwise. Like a 4 or 5 year old Cayman S, or F-Type S or F-Type R, or even a Q60S IPL (assuming lots, LOL).

Yes, that's definitely a lot lower mileage than me. I wish I could keep it that low, because it would significantly extend the amount of time I would own the car and having as a DD.
I'm having to get into the planning mindset a little bit more because there's a lot of dependencies to consider to me, based upon the simple fact that I can't get the lust for a GT-R out of my head.
Wanting a GT-R throws a lot more kinks into the equation than it normally would. I do know that I want the GT-R as a low mileage fun car and not a DD and probably most definitely a pre-owned one. That complicates things for me considerably. Questions to consider:
1) Do I just keep the G and have it as a daily driver for as long as I can? Not a bad option but that depends on what my future driving (miles per day) is.
2) Do I get something newer and more fuel efficient like a Q30/40/50 to refresh my DD?
Eh, it's too early to make that decision yet, but in your school of thought (that I very much appreciate) I have to think long term which will also factor into how many more mods I do to the G.
Those are all great choices and given your low yearly mileage, it would not be an issue for maintenance.

Car plans are fun, and flexible. But in the moment, I'm just happy to have the car I have right now, and still be able to mod it.

Yesterday's photoshoot at an abandoned Dunkin Donuts with my buddy Dan, turned out to be great !

I gotta admit the B&W pictures add a lot more character and set a certain mood to it.
Part 2 - rolling shots from today coming soon, enjoy
