Does anyone with R2C intakes have the black filters installed? I'm contemplating getting a set but at $75 shipped it's a little steep. If anyone has pictures of the black ones installed please post them.

It is 95* outside and direct sunlight. A hair dryer wont do much.
I only soaked it for a minute or two in goo gone, but I'll soak it a bit longer and see if that works.

Huh? I have the R2C intake, but IDK what you're asking.

This.

Heat it up, rub it off with your fingers. Use polishing compound to match the paint, then wax.

Turns out my "broken valve stem" was just the check valve piece, which can be replaced from the outside with the right little specialty tool. Didn't need a new whole stem after all, and didn't need to dismount, mount & balance.

I'm back in business. Hoorah.

Would have been better if I figured this out last Friday.

They have white filters and black filters. I'm asking if anyone has the black filters installed.

I didn't know they came in black. You should get them and then I can see if I like them.

Wait, did you have the R2C in April?

Oh. *Black* filter element. I get it. Um, no. Don't have that. I'd consider red, however, if they had it. Or... amber! How cool would amber be?!?! LOL (But seriously... does anyone make an amber filter?)

Just went driving, for the fun of it. Beautiful summer dusk, car is just washed & polished, and I've got my wheel back on. I swear, and I've said this before, the 6MT should have the Traction Control button right next to the shifter, like a trigger. Pulling hard out of the hole into a sweeping turn absolutely begs you to turn TC off.

So. Much. Fun.

That's exactly what I'm running right now on my 2008 G35x. I love the Vossens but they didn't sell the CV3's in +35 in 10.5" so I went with STR. I do have about a 1/2' poke in the rears, but flush up front. Then again I'm lowered on Fortune 500 coilovers with full camber kit all around. No rubbing whatsoever with a pretty good alignment. Here's a couple shots of what they look like. I'll post up some more any angle if you need.

This is the alignment and what it looked like before the drop and rims.

Yes that was the only "engine" mod I had at the time. Didn't matter much anyway because your hood was the only one open all day. Lol

I may get them. I need to clean my white ones, but I may just buy new ones, especially since I may be changing out my bolts to all black and the black filters would look good, at least that's my hope.

I tried goof off, but I didnt soak it very long. Some people mentioned to clay bar it.

goo gone, cotton cloth, don't scratch it with your finger nails, rub it off with your fingers , the rest goo gone and then clay bar, that's how I did mine

I think he meant 275/30/20, they sure don't look like 275/35s and his original post says 275/30s so I assume that's what's on his G.

275/35 would be better than the 275/40s, but for an AWD I wouldn't push it in regards to deviating from OEM diameters too much. The 35s would be a bit over an inch taller and just under 4% variance from OEM and that's too much to recommend, under 1% really seems to be the safe range.

Yes. I'm sorry. Blnewt is right. Mine are 275/30's. I wouldn't go with 35's because they will rub and the variance will be way off. The 30's are at -.8 variance and can be adjusted in the hidden settings on your dash to correct the speedometer. Sorry about the confusion.
