Your experience is making me hesitate

Wheels and tires led to poke. Poke led to springs. Springs lead to potential alignment issues. Alignment issues lead to camber kits. Im afraid its going to lead me to frustration. And my inner cheapskate doesnt want to just dump money into it.

Maybe I should just go with my original plan of STS + custom boot + WC Lathe Werks **** and spend my little bonus cash on another hobby. Are 19" wheels really going to offer an ROI for my 4 mile commute, or just look awesome?

Nah, man up and dive in. It's just a hobby. In that context, do something indulgent once in a while. Or at least once a year, LOL.

Was it you that clued me into LathWerks? It's been two weeks since I ordered my titanium teardrop ****. Can't wait to see it.

I had about 2mm clearance with my VOSSENS, and the OEM valve stems were hitting (because of the deep inner lip). Shorty stems fixed the second problem, and the first really wasn't a problem, but I added 3mm spacers anyway, to better match flush fitment with the rears.

Seeing clearance between the spokes and calipers the thickness of a credit card was kind of freaky.
I also have about a credit cards worth of clearance in the front after slapping on my BBK. It was kind...freaky seeing it. Any imperfections on the inside of my rims would score the calipers.

Yeah, I was the one who mentioned WC Lathe Werks.

Don't worry, I indulge, I just spread it around my various hobbies

Wheels are still on the table, I just need to do some more research.

Do they make air diversion plate for the g37? Looking to dress up the engine bay.

Did I post this in the wrong section or people have not heard of this or no interest?

So as I get deeper into the rabbit hole of wheel selection, I start reading about construction. Obviously forged is out of my budget, but is there any opinion on the TSW rotary forged wheels or the Enkei M.A.T. wheels? The TSW interlagos look pretty nice and are somewhat lighter weight.

Is a ~$1200 set of wheels lesser quality than my OEM sport wheels?

Hey Lego, there are many different production methods for aluminum wheels. Rotary Forging is a good compromise between the cost of a cast wheel and approaching the strength and light weight of a forged wheel.

Here's a good example: Wheel Composition and Construction

The TSW rotary forged wheels would exceed the quality of the stock wheels. I have had excellent experiences with TSW wheels and the Nurburgrings were the second set I've owned.

I'll second that! I had a set of TSW nurburgrings that were pretty awesome.

Thanks!

The Nurembergs are on my list too. I'm not 100% sold on the mirror finish of the Interlagos, so bronze Nurembergs are a consideration.

I've also got a line on some never used 2013 coupe wheels/tires. I know, the easy way out

That's the thing that gave me pause on the Interlagos. Otherwise, the design is clean and appealing... as is the cost and weight.

Actually, now that I look at it again, the design is so clean it's almost boring. Hmm.

Agreed, but it also might look good on black.

I'm a pretty boring guy

It is a pretty boring design. Still it is very lightweight, strong, and affordable. I will be upgrading to those wheels when it is time to change my tires.

Lego, if you do purchase those wheels, I would love to see a pic. What size do you plan on running: 18" or 19"?

Also, just saw that your car is black. I think it would look a lot cleaner with a silver finish on the wheels. TSW has a wheel visualizer that helps a bit. Although I don't know why the car looks like it is lifted on that visualizer.

I'm looking at 19s. I put together a spreadsheet of wheel sizes and offsets using the calculator and I just dont see any combination that isn't going to poke out and make me want to lower the car.
