I dunno, I think $110K is steep. That's more M5 than M3 price, not to mention its Infiniti's first effort in thst segment. I also think the 7 speed auto is going to be scoffed at relative to the competitions dual clutch units. Im sure the infiniti fan boyz will love it, but the Germans own this segment, and the CTS-V is going to be the budget choice.
If you are only attempting to sell 250-500 units over a 2 year life cycle you'll have zero problems getting every one of them out the door around the $100K mark. Most of the people who are complaining or ******* it aren't in a position to purchase it anyway, so who gives a tinker's damn about what they'd want in the car. People will line up to buy dog turds if they're "Special Edition" ones.
That article has a ton of good info on where the brand is heading and it sounds very promising.

Steep for my budget, but I suspect appropriate for the car.
Just yesterday I was looking at a Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, which stickered over $100K. It was already sold, and the only other Coupe they had was an $80K F-Type S... which they shockingly allowed me to test drive.
My point being, there's a market for these cars at these price points. It ain't me, but if I could I would.

I think if they really make a big splash with the Q50 Eau Rouge, then the Q60, Q80, or Q90 variants will be better accepted. They wont be limited because they won't use the GTR individually hand built engines.
I think that it's really a relaunching of their efforts at a performance line since the original IPL coupe was really nothing at all. Maybe the IPL was just to get the idea in people's heads and the Eau Rouge cars are coming along after that to blow buyers away by comparison to that impotent effort. Setting them up to knock them down?

Infiniti needs this car, Johan wants to go after BMW and they need a real flagship. I personally believe the car will be priced under or around the 100k mark, but we shall see.
Brand recognition is a big thing and even now, before the car is even in production, there is a healthy buzz going around. The only problem I foresee is turning over the BMW/Porsche customers and converting them.
We all have to wait and see what happens, I am just glad this thing is actually getting made.

People complain about the price but w/ only 250ish or so being produced yearly; price will absolutely not matter as long as the performance is there and the collectibility value is retained. Dang dealership keeps hounding me to trade my G in since they know I baby the hell out of her. I keep telling them to **** off. If this does become a reality, I'll be the first one to drop the RG37S license plate and switch to Q50ERG3.
