I have a 2010 G37X and somtimes when I I turn it on it shuts off. Don't know why its doing that can anyone explain that's having the same problem. Also its making a knocking sound when stopped. Its not loud but u can hear it.

 

throttle bodies need cleaning. However, if you are still under warranty, your dealer might replace them. I was about to clean mine, but I went to the dealer and told them the exact same thing. Started the car and it died. It happened 3 times in a row. Dealer said it was common for the throttle bodies to go bad, so they replaced them.

 

take that **** to the dealer asap

just curious how many miles is your G? That happened to me a couple times and my G is only in the 10k mile range...

 

I have the same car and the same problem would having intakes void the warranty?

probably needs to reprogram the ECM.. and maybe replace the throttle bodies.. why didnt you get an extended warranty?

 

Had the same problem at about 43k miles. I also had a SES light on for a week or so. Took it in and they did some ecu update/restart. I also cleaned the throttle bodies for good measure and that cured my rough/bouncing idle. I have typhoon intakes and not a word was said about them.

 

I've experience this from tome to time. I always thought it was bad gas. Any way the car will start up after a second try. I've never mentioned it to the dealer because it rarely happens. My G has 50K miles.

same year, 2010 G37, about 46,000 miles. This problem has happened about 7 or 8 times in the past year or so. Today, it happened right on me. After a short trip, I went back to my car, started it up, it died; started up again, it died again. This problem repeated itself for about 4 times before I came out of the car, locked it up before re-entered the car and started it up ok. I didn't hear the knocking noise though, well i might be too sad to hear it. I meant, my car is only about 4- years old. I wanted to buy a new car to have some trouble-free fun ride :-(

it seems like i need to go to dealership.
