It's cyclic. VW is a good example of on again, off again chrome.

 

There is a street race scene down here as well. Not real big but there are tons of cars overly Chromed, and slammed that really takes away from the aesthetics of these machines. When I was younger before getting married I would have propably been into that stuff as well. I'm a little older now and see the value of these cars when kept elegant and classy. A heavily slammed and obnoxiously loud car with a bunch of cheap stick on parts just doesn't do it for me. When I see a well maintained lightly modded car it will grab my attention more.

If I had the money I'd probably make something like Paul Newman's Volvo 960 wagon with the 5.0L supercharged Ford V8. I want something unassuming that has stealth power. I like that the sedan basically looks like an Altima. No disrespect to you modders out there but the stock G37 sedan is a nice looking car.

 

I doubt anyone that mods their G would take offense, most of us just add a little here & there to enhance the look or go w/ a specific theme. The radical makeovers that alter the look significantly are pretty rare. Luckily for the wheel manufacturers Infiniti sedans come w/ pretty bland wheels, but other than that they are pretty nice looking out of the box

 

I'd love to do a radical makeover on my sedan, but don't have near enough dough to do it the way I see it in my head. It would be a Infiniti GTR sedan. LOL

Agreed, so sick. But reality kicks in and I see it will not happen unless I come up with a ton of cash.

Any of you guys have an idea what should or what can I use to clean my exhaust tips? I got the exhaust today earlier than supposed to and wanna know how or what to clean it with for best results

 

For SS tips and cans with lots of tar and whatnot that seems to be corroding right on the metal, wash first (duh), and then go at the stainless steel with 4-naught (0000) Steel Wool. Polish it up afterwards with Meguiars metal polish. If you're talking about the OEM tips, another solution is to just hack em off and toss them in the garbage.

No wait, you mean your new Invidia Exhaust? In that case, just the Meguiars Metal Polish. Any auto store, or Walmart, for that matter.

Don't use SW on the burnt tips. You'll likely remove the finish entirely. Which isn't exactly a bad thing, IMO. I don't like that whole burnt-Ti thing. Don't like it at all.

 

LMAO you are a funny guy funny haha I'm not really against the burn-ti thing... especially since the tips are rolled so it doesnt look that bad... I'll see what it looks like once its on the car

 

I found this stuff at Advanced Auto. It's called Eagle One and it worked GREAT at removing the carbon build-up and polishing the SS exhaust tips. It comes in a tin can and is like a bunch of Guase stuffed inside. You just tear off a piece and rub it in to the metal. Let it dry till it turns milky or hazy then wash off. It may take a few trys if the tips are really bad but I did mine and it worked the second time.
***Use gloves*** That stuff will mess your skin up.

ALWAYS use gloves when messing with metal polish, because of the mess. Surgical gloves... you can find them at any drug store.
