No kidding - what the hell happened to the original topic??

 

It's part of the "Performance Wheel & Tire Package" option, tough to find out there this late in the season, got mine back in Sept. Anyway they are 18's so much nicer than the stock 17's I had on my 2010. I swapped out the Dunlop's that came with them for Michelin A/S'3 and the ride and grip is greatly improved!

 

That's where my post was going, back on track with the original post stating that NO, I don't find the sedan horribly plain looking, I love G sedan just needs a few options and add-ons.

 

2011-2013 as the wheel option on sedans... most of the time, they came with the maplewood accents too.

 

Maple Wood is the Interior Accent Package which is separate from the wheel package (Neither is available anymore for the life of the G) but they go great together, especially with the Graphite interior.

 

I'm not so sure we had/have the option up here. When I bought my 2011 I told the dealer that I didn't like the wheels. I'm sure if he could have up-sold me something, he would have.
I am happy with the way things worked out anyway. I got some great DPE R16 20" wheels and I use the '18" duck feet" for my winter tires.

 

Yeah, my G has actually grown on me a LOT in the past few days. The only thing that's really killing me about it is Infiniti's dumb decision to put tiny, ugly 17" wheels on a large sedan. It looks terribad.

 

I'm glad you're coming around on your G and I have to agree that the 17"s are, to put it charitably, not good at all. Though, I'm honestly not a big fan of most of Infiniti's 18" offerings either (I guess some of the early models have decent 18"s but the duckfeet are bleh) so, really, only the guys with the coupe 19"s have a good looking wheel right off the showroom floor. On the bright side, there are plenty of aftermarket wheels out there.

In the spirit of whoring a pointless thread... I actually washed and dried my car today. Had to retrieve my hose, having already put it away for Winter, but that sure didn't stop me. We had a very unusual blast of 50 degree weather, which is going to immediately drop back down to the 20's and 30's tomorrow.

I rinse my car with that thing attached and don't even waste my time drying it. Never have any water spots when it dries, saves me a ton of time.

It's just a water filter. You hook it up in line with your hose and it filters the water. It's designed to be used to fill RVs with clean water, but it works amazingly for washing cars. Usually you have to dry your car off because the minerals in the water stay behind as water spots, but with this it removes them (or most of them, depends how hard your water is). My water is clean enough here that I can rinse it with that filter on and the water dries with zero spots left behind.

 

DOH! Now I get it.

That's really clever. I always chamois dry the cars to avoid spots, but on incredibly hot sunny days (which are rare here), it's a losing battle. When that happens, I continually keep the car wet while washing/rinsing, then pull it into the garage to dry it off with the chamois.

Elohel, I'm actually going to write this idea down so that I can revisit it next Spring. Very cool idea.
