G37 Sedan

Does anyone else find the sedan horribly plain looking?

Oh yeah I have no doubt about that.. I already know that I'll like it and I'll let you know my impressions once I get it installed for sure and yeah exactly I wouldn't want an exhaust where I would be pissing off the neighbors since I do sometimes get back home really late at night or spontaneously leave late at night too...

I mean Alpha Ice told me he included the gaskets as well which are OK, but at this point I don't know what kind of difference is it going to make if I reuse them or get new ones neither I know what would the thickest ones do in this case... if you know more about this, I am willing to listen

2010+ sport version looks great, but a nice drop and wheels really set it off.

With that said, I have a set of 18" OEM "duckbill" wheels with almost new tires for sale in the marketplace.

Ouch.
Growing up, almost all of the cars my Dad and I built had cherry bombs or "Thrush" mufflers from Walker. It was the mod of it's time. 60's and 70's cars had horribly restrictive exhaust setups, so when you had a custom 2 1/4 dual exhaust system installed with a set of cherry bombs or thrush mufflers, you were in mod heaven. Hell,we even installed them on our work pickups. Bone stock 80s Chevy Silverados with dual exhaust and cherry bombs. Turning heads :-)

Happy Thanksgiving.

Same here at least until I went the 240 and 280 Z route and to the Shelby Charger. I miss those days....

I had a 1990 F250 with a 460 and burned out cherry bombs. You could hear it coming from a mile away. That truck was a head turner but not because it was pretty.

This thread is really bobbing & weaving, so here goes........
Had a 73 K5 Blazer w/ a 400 small block w/ Hedman Headers going into Thrush mufflers, damn I think I can still hear it echoing down the Black Canyon Freeway in Phoenix. If I remember correctly it got about 6 miles per gallon
Also had a 73 Jeep CJ5 w/ an AMC 401 from a Cherokee, this had glass pack shorties that went into stubby side pipes, that might have been even louder than the Blazer and it got about 11-12 mpg. Damn good thing gas was only a buck a gallon then

Haha. Mine was a black on black '04 with the ugly black plastic trim that I was always repainting black because it was fading. What year was yours?

I wish I was able to get the 6mt but I was lucky just to be able to find a RWD S up here. Plus if I'm not mistaken I believe the S with the tech package maybe the rarest optioned G sedan, don't quote me on that though. Lol. I cant wait to start modding my exhaust, slowly as funds become available.

Mine was an 03 with exactly the same problem... the color unmatched trim that was always fading :X Yeah I think you might be right S with the tech package may be the rarest option on the sedan.. unfortunately the 6mt ones don't come with the tech package :X but oh well for me it was 6MT > any stupid package.. yeah man it's really fun I can't wait till next saturday to get mine installed that is on the way as we speak I'll report back with my impressions for a start you should get some intakes that's what I did a week or 2 weeks after I got the car

EDIT: my buddy was kind enough to offer me help installing the Catback the same day I get it on wednesday after work

Same here. This is my 2010 xS from that perspective before and after blacking out the grille (and window trim).

I think the back looks good, too (would be better yet with darker tails):

Even the side isn't bad for a sedan (would be better yet with darker windows).

The chrome finish on the standard grille is just awful. Way too much chrome, like a Hyundai Sonata's grille. It was not at all a good design choice, IMO.

Fortunately it's also easily "fixed".

There is nothing sporty looking about it, and I wouldn't even give it a second glance if I just saw one drive by. I've been looking on this site in vain for days trying to find one person with a nice, attention-grabbing sedan, and all i find over and over again are.. coupes. Anyone else ever felt this way and had the car grow on them after some time?
I would go a step farther and call it down right disgusting!!!!

Looks good to me, thanks for the pics! I eliminated all the chrome in the front and really like it much better. I'll try and get better pics. I did have the rear lens lightly smoked and thought rebadging would take away from the duckbill. My windows are fairly dark so it seems, to me anyway, to all tie together nicely.
