Hey guys, might be a silly question but just trying to get familiar with the forum and the car, is there any way to get the same churping sound when you open and lock the door with your hand as opposed to nothing but a horn beep when locking the car with the remote.....?

No...there's no option for that. However, if you use the buttons on the door handles you get beeps.

 

Other than turning the beeping and the horn off there is no way to make the car beep via the key fob.

Weird, I only hear the locks engage/disengage when pressing door handle buttons, no beeps/chirps?

 

That is the way mine works
When you press the button on the door handle no beeps or chirps but doors lock and unlock
When I press lock on the key fob remote it chirps and lights flash

So yours works the complete opposite of mine, I get the two beeps when touching the door and no sound when using the remote.....

You are supposed to get chirps when you use the door handle button.

 

I had to go out to the garage and see what mine did.

Door handle : 1 beep -open / 2 beeps- locked.
Fob. : zero horn - open / 1 horn chirp - locked

 

There is a setting you can activate and deactivate by pressing the unlock and lock button on the ley fob at the same time that activates and deactivates the horn and beeps. If I remember correctly you press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously.

Check your owners manual it starts at 3-16 through 3-17.
