I have 2011 G37.
for some reason the "chime" when you lock or unlock your doors via the outer button on the door has stopped working

I can get the horn to honk when I lock but the chime is gone.

I have tried holding the lock/unlock buttons but the chime is gone

is there some thing im missing? maybe a button?

I did have to use my key a few days ago to open the door

 

your battery may be low or dead.

 

There's a sequence that you pushed on your fob (by accident) that disabled the chime, I lost mine awhile back and they gave me the process to re-enable it. No time now but if someone doesn't "chime" in (couldn't help myself )

Or like Sniper mentioned it may be a battery issue, but it sounds like the exact scenario I went through a few months back.

 

No need to find the thread....the sequence is in your owners manual.

 

Starting at Page 3-14. Hold the key's Lock and Unlock button down together for more than 2 seconds to toggle between the two modes.
