I have extensively researched the function of the snow button in authoritative sources, and to the best of my knowledge and experience, what I have posted here is correct.

I did, it came right off the training module. I retook it just to make sure I wasn't talking out of my butt again.

Yep. Pg 2-39 in the 2011 manual. Just says what snow mode does though. Manuals would be pretty thick if they wrote everything things do not do.
It also says to disable VDC if you require maximum engine power to get unstuck. Hey wait...I always want maximum engine power

The Mercedes SL65 Black actually has a warning that says turning tc off will void warranty
