This subject has been pretty much "discussed to death" on this site a few times, most recently here:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...ow-button.html

I have extensively researched the function of the snow button in authoritative sources, and to the best of my knowledge and experience, what I have posted here is correct.

The owners manual has the best description of what it does and doesn't do.

Starting with the 2007 X model, the AWD lock feature of the snow button was deleted and the snow mode only reduces throttle sensitivity.
Ok and this is myg37.com, not g35 driver. But good to know if any of the 1st geners are looking here.

I did, it came right off the training module. I retook it just to make sure I wasn't talking out of my butt again.

Yep. Pg 2-39 in the 2011 manual. Just says what snow mode does though. Manuals would be pretty thick if they wrote everything things do not do.
It also says to disable VDC if you require maximum engine power to get unstuck. Hey wait...I always want maximum engine power
