I'm happy with the new car, the updated look is nice, the interior is a step up, the customization options sound great. I just hope there's not a bunch of people crashing reading their facebook while driving, probably why they have that built in collision detection system.

Though honestly I'm most happy I don't feel the need to immediately go out and upgrade my '12. The name change will confuse people for a while, the performance isn't any better, and I still like the styling of my G. I probably won't get an Infiniti for my next car not because this ones not nice, but simply because I like to try out new brands past 3 cars have been (Honda, Toyota, Infiniti), but who knows maybe I'll like the Q70 or other offerings.

From the website:

"Personalized drive modes - Infiniti’s ground-breaking Direct Adaptive Steering system, lets you customize your ride with four driver-selectable steering modes. Choose Touring, Sport or Standard modes to reflect the needs of the drive or simply your mood. And in Custom mode, steering effort and response can be personalized, freeing you to command the road on your terms."

Hopefully that means that there is a setting in that system for everyone :P

I see that the Q50 has a split fold-down rear seat, a very handy feature. Much better than the pass-through behind the rear armrest. Do you know if the Q50 has ventilated front seats? I haven't had a chance to check the new specs yet. I was surprised that my parents Maxima has ventilated front seats, but the current G does not offer them.

I don't understand the point of much of the infotainment. Distracting and dangerous while driving. When not driving, I'd rather use my smartphone.

The driving experience is the important thing while driving...

Not sure yet, My maxima has heated steering wheel and that thing IS BEAST when its cold in the mornings.

I would assume training on the Q50 wouldn't start till about march, maybe April seeing that it wont be launched until late summer (probably end of august, early September).

Lets hope I last that long lol.

I bet you a box of donuts that most of the infotainment system will be unusable while the vehicle is in motion.

Most you will be able to do while driving is make bluetooth phone calls, verbally update twitter/facebook and maybe change pandora channels.

Disappointed with the engine and transmission but the Hybrid is interesting and will develop a lot more needed low end toque. The tech in this car is impressive. My lease in not up until June 2014, so I have lots of time to check it out and compare.
