Installed my Tanabe exhaust today

Installed my Tanabe axleback today. Took about an hour without jacking it up. My G is 6 mths old and the 2 nuts and 2 bolts per exhaust were not rusted so it was pretty easy to take off. The install was just as easy as the removal.

The sound is just a bit deeper than stock but not too different until I hit 3,500 rpm's. Then I can hear a growl. I can feel a slight gain in power which is pretty cool too.

Looks great and is lower to the ground than stock. I have a 1 inch clearance when backing out of my garage to the street. Scared the hell out of me.

Next stop...trunk lip and rims.

1 Tanabe and 1 stock

Nice! Is it any louder on startup and idle? Want an exhaust that is loud when I'm getting on it but won't wake up the neighbors in the middle of the night

LOL. I feel the same. Start up, I hear a slight growl. At idle, it's quiet. Driving down the street, it's just a bit louder than stock. At 3,500 rpm or higher, it's louder and deeper than stock. That's my observation. Hope that helps.

I take clients around in my G so it's the perfect choice for me.

Looks good. Is it the tips that almost scrape, or the cans themselves?

Nice looking exhaust. I heard the fitment and quality is superb but a bit quieter than the TopSpeed.

The tips are what come close to the ground while backing out. That's because my driveway is pretty steep. I'm sure it would be the same if i had any other upgraded 4" tips.

Yeah, the fit and quality so far are great...Thanks. If anyone is considering getting a new exhaust over stock, do it. Whether it's Tanabe or another brand, it will be better than stock IMO. The axle back was really easy to DIY.

Do it...do it!

When I had my Tanabe on there was no change at start up, no change at idle, just slight change at low RPM and after 4,000 RPM. Wasn't enough for me, but the looks were great.

My old Tanabe

My current TopSpeed

Cant really go wrong with Tanabe. Its a higher price tag for what you get but worth it for fit and finish. sound is perfect in my opinion. While the stillen was nice, it was a little too long for me. Tanabes were my first and I am going back to them.

Yeah, I was out cruzin today and really enjoyed it. I'm happy I went with the Tanabe's. Really makes the G look and sound better. It's just a straight up classy set up.

You're going to love them. Not too loud cruising, but give it about 3-5k miles and the broken in sound above 3k rpm is beautiful (and it will get a bit louder and deeper as miles rack up)....

BTW, Nice to see a fellow TROJAN on here!!!
