I notice every morning when pulling out of my neighborhood I hear a noticable clunk/crunch/click sound coming from the engine bay as I get up to about 40mph. It doesn't seem to happen on the first shift or two, but usually the 3rd or 4th...It also happens when I leave work as well, so after the car has been sitting...I never noticed this when I got my car, but notice it a lot now...I'm at 5k miles.

I might be suffering the same symptoms as you however mine is from first to second and then disappears shortly thereafter..and it's not all the time, does yours happen every time like clockwork? If so then at least you'll be able to get a diagnosis

 

does it happen specifically during a shift? Is your car an MT?
