2012 Emblems Plasti Dip....opinions please!

After seeing a couple other people's emblems, I loved the look, and it didn't look too hard.

It took me about 4 hours, and 4 coats to do.

It wasn't that hard, especially once everything dried and I wiped it all down. I was really really freaked out that it wouldn't come off the paint.

The S got a little messed up, I couldn't find a way to get a really clean cut. I may take the rest of the plasti dip off of the S and have it be chrome.

What to you think?

Against that color G, it works well. The "S" could use some touch-up, but otherwise, it looks as if it came that way, all flat black. Nice job.

Should last your entire 2 year lease just fine before peeling it off.

Looks nice.
I agree that the black emblems look best on the gunmetal/grey paint. The "S" could use some extra attention, though.

I am about to try this on my G also. Ive been looking around about plasti dip for my rims and emblems but what happens when the plasti gets on your car? Do you just peel it off? Is it very simple? Last question... How much coating should i use for emblems and rims?

I know it seems counter-intuitive but the more layers of over-spray the easier it is to peel off. I guess you want to cover areas you don't want sprayed but the thicker the over-spray, the easier it is to peel right off. I would guess you want 3 to 5 layers?

It's sorta like putting Elmers glue on your palm and peeling it off when it dries.

Interesting look and gave me a visual perspective. Looks clean and once the 'S' is in the shape, it would be better off. Agreed with others, paint the chrome lip or plastidip.

Im going for a similar look but will be a bit different.

Good from far, far from good.

Dont get me wrong. I do think the emblems look great in matte black. But up close, that does not look good to me at all. The textured look is not a good/clean look imo. Every plasti dip piece ive seen in person looks like its peeling at the edges. If you can see any chrome at all coming through, id say scrap it and get them painted in matte black.

Again..just my opinion.

Finally! Truth to Power on this PlastiDip fad.

Hang on to your hat, RDDLINE. You're about to get buried for your blasphemy.
