2012 G37 Journey- Question: for the USB connection inside the center console, can any other audio device, other than an Ipod be used? If not, this SUCKS big time!!! I already tried using my Sony mp3 player but it did not work.

Depends whether you have navi or not.

 

You can use a Fat32 formatted jump drive in that same port. I think it has a max readable capacity, but check in the manual. I broke down and switched to an iPod.

 

I believe you can as long as it's a usb connector. i don't have NAV and i plug in usb thumbdrives and it plays fine.

 

I should have mentioned that yes, I have navi. Also, I specifically was wondering if any other music/mp3 player type device will work with the USB. My flash drives work, but I really really do not want to purchase an Ipod device. Using a flash drive elimantes all the cool features on my mp3 player, so this is why I do not use the flash drives either.

 

It's Apple only if you want the interface. I had an old Nano and it works great or just buy an Apple product from your local CL.

If you have navi, the screen can play videos from a USB storage devIce too.
