On a related note, it's not uncommon nature to tell ourselves the things we're unable to justify are actually the less desirable choice. People are funny that way.
Well stated!
As I had previously noted on this thread, I appreciate many components of the sport pkg on a daily basis - the quicker steering the most. I have the unique advantage of having both Sport (mine) and Non-sport (the wife's). There is a noticeable difference. Admittedly - same engine/trans - but the steering and suspension differences raise the fun-to-drive quotient of the Sport considerably.
In the end - enjoy what you have - both are a great ride.
I was also deciding in late December between purchasing the Sport and non sport model and opted for the non sport. I love the sport seats but for my long commute each day, the sport suspension would have been too stiff ...
I really wouldn't call the sport suspension "stiff". I'd use the term "responsive". I don't find it in the least bit uncomfortable on long trips, even on rough roads. You just get a great feel that you are one with the road, but not in a bone-jarring way, like some may think. If you are a true driving enthusiast not looking for a luxury sedan ride, the G37S is tough to beat in its category.
I especially enjoy driving on the highway at night, as you can really get a feel for the responsiveness of the suspension. This occurs when the projection of light from the headlamps moves simultaneously and rapidly with the tight movement of the suspension. Anyone else driving a sport notice and enjoy this...or is it just me?
i drive my g37s MT in LA its fine, but I had a very stiff ride before. I also driven e90/e92 (without sport package) and they're rather stiff as well for stock. The G37s is noticeably smoother but stiff at the same time.
100% recommend the S, its a huge upgrade and its well worth it
You also get the ugly 18" sport wheels that are less ugly than the 17" non sports
Oh c'mon, they aren't so bad. On the plus side, they're Enkei's, and they're no boat anchors. But I understand the sentiment. I've a friend who calls them Duck Feet.
And before the silly drop-your-ride crew sounds off... the car is sitting an a funky angle. Normally, the 6MT sits with relatively uniform gap.
I never said they weren't a quality wheel, just not a great looking wheel compared to the previous split spoke sport G sedan wheels or any of the nicer looking factory wheels for the G coupes
