No bubbles bursted. I was curious because they don't look "Nissan" and seem a little large for the narrow location on the fender; they look more upscale, Merc/Bimmer. My 2004.5 G35 had smaller amber side markers that looked more unassuming, like the ones above.

I can't get behind an IPL badge on a base model G. Like putting an M badge on a base model BMW. The car looks good overall though.

I've often wondered what would grant a sedan the "right" to use an IPL badge. They were never made so it's open to interpretation. Would it be all the Sport trimmings with the IPL wheels and upgraded suspension and body work? Honestly it's a shame that IPL was such a failed experiment, I would have like to see an IPL sedan and IPL versions of the Q50/60.

The marketing around the model was poor and the upgrades weren't entirely clear. Infiniti could have created a vertical market just by clarifying the upgraded components and reselling as OEM performance enhancements.

This is the BWM model they should have copied, vs. one where they added some interior creature comforts & tech with limited usefulness then raised the price and populated the rental car fleet. You go after the 'ultimate driving machine' brand with Skyline DNA, Japanese reliability and value.

Anyway, water under the bridge at this point.

The IPL was a unique and special car. A 5% power bump, a retuned suspension, sport exhaust, and some IPL-specific body panels.

As a brand, IPL could have should have been more than it was. But it was still a pretty cool car.

Power bump through a better exhaust? Retune?
Do we know which components on the suspension?

I ask because RWD<->RWD most coupe suspension parts also work on the sedan.

A retuned suspension is also included, increasing spring rates by 20% in the front and 10% out back, along with slightly upgraded brakes.

So in theory someone could use IPL parts (excluding the bumpers and mufflers/ rear exhaust) and get fairly close to making an IPL sedan mechanically?

In theory, yes, but there are aftermarket options that meet and exceed even that of the IPL "specs." And be more readily available. Owners are now having a hard time finding replacement shocks and the like for these IPL's. IMO, outside of the appearance items, everything else was negligible.

Full disclosure, I do have the IPL catback exhaust on my Coupe even though I had the "sport accessory" muffler to begin with. Difference being the IPL uses a true H-pipe vs. the usual X-pipe. The H-pipe was what I wanted at the time. I just can not justify paying $2K for a Fast Intentions' or ARK GRiP for a 17-year-old car barely worth a few grand itself. Anyway, my 10¢...

An IPL ecu is also different than the rest of the G's, but it's the fact that it never existed that bugs me.

I've always wondered if Nissan just borrowed the formula (exhaust, different tune) from the Nismo Z and applied it to the IPL.

Ran across the window sticker from my 2004 G35 Sport Sedan. I thought some may be interested. Sport Package was available standalone, no sunroof, Bose or premium package required.
