This is the first time in a long while that a photo has got me interested in getting the OEM front chin. It really doesn't look any *lower*, just protrudes a little bit.

I might (!!!) be able to clear my driveway hump with the OEM chin.

Thanks for the perspective, Fat Sac.

Yep and both cars are lowered on Eibach and both cars sitting on the same size rim (20) and tires 245/35 respectively. I mean I never got into measuring anything, but Id guess within an inch or so lower if that. Think as you mentioned its the optical illusion that its lower with the chin. I say go for it!

Looks good Fisher...that the Cmod grille?

I modified the OEM grille and painted the outer frame. I heard about fitment issues with the CMod.

Thanks guys!

That looks great, Vic. Although I would really worry about that rubbing on steep parking lot transitions. I know that would definitely be rubbing all the time if it was on my car. I was constantly rubbing by single Tanabe exhaust tips, so I switched those out for smaller quad tips for more clearance.

Thanks for the perspective, Fat Sac.

Keep in mind that it's not just the clearance difference that you have to worry about, the length of overhang is also very important... like you said, it protrudes further. My Carbon Signal lip only sits about 1/4" (or less) lower than the bumper itself, but since it sits so much further forward (further from the tires) it tends to hit more often on angled parking lot/driveway transitions. So I have to be much more careful when it's installed. It's funny that my Porsche sit WAY lower to the ground than my G, but since it has such short overhangs it never rubs the front (or rear for that matter).

That's true. All true. Simple geometry, dammit.

I'm feeling like I'm at the half-way point of ownership, and although I have plenty of modifications on the bench for the coming years, I don't really have any new visual mods planned for the car; ('cept for the headlights.) So I'm trying to talk myself into the chin.
