That's fascinating, but the primary problem is the height of the apron between the road and the sidewalk... not the angle or complications at the gutter. It's a pretty steep angle for that first 4 feet or so. Actually, the town paved over the gutters years ago (lazy), and you can see in this video how I smoothed out the initial angle with cold patch a few years back.

For some reason, pulling into the driveway is far less compromising than pulling straight out.

And now we're off topic. My bad.

I think this is because when you're pulling in, gravity is somewhat lifting up the front, so you have a bit more clearance. When you pull straight out, it's the opposite effect. My driveway isn't this bad, but I do get close (I have the front lip too).

Can you just back out of the driveway? I guarantee you'll have easier time.

Probably, but an irrational fear of scraping up these beautiful Sebring Tuning mufflers and tips makes me shudder.

Good job with the entry and exit!! Also, that's a very desirable neighborhood you've got there!

Don't get me wrong, John, I'm not trying to discourage you from getting the OEM front sport lip. I'm actually a big fan of the OEM sport lip and think it looks great with the sport front bumper. Adds some aggression to the front end without being too over-the-top. However, I just wanted to make the point that if anyone thinks that adding the sport lip won't affect their approach angle then they are kidding themselves.

Wow... No install parties at Rochester's house!

That angle actually reminds me of the driveway on my first house, except the entire drive way was that steep. My new Mother-In-Law at the time actually slipped on some snow/ice walking up that driveway and broke her ankle... it was that BAD!

It's an old neighborhood, built in the 1920's. Mostly humble homes... starters and retirees, with hardly any teenagers or trouble.

I'd hate to be so house-poor that my home could be in jeopardy if I lose my job. That's never happened, but still, keeping it simple in all things... except the car. And even then, really. I'm not car-poor either.

blah blah blah... I need to post a new pic of my car. Maybe this weekend after the VQ|North meet-up & BBQ.

John that crackle from the exhaust sounds awesome, I will say you have some of the cleanest tasteful mods. Those wheels tie everything in perfect.

Now I was looking through your build didnt get a chance to read if you explained it or not (there is quite the posts on it) but why did you do a half spring/half coilover setup and how do you like it?

Oh god, now I'm whoring the Sedan photo thread...

Buying the Vossens made me realize the car needed to drop. Dropping the car on Swift Springs looked fine, except for the somewhat droopy rear end. I tried a number of urethane spacer solutions between the rear springs and the top seats, but they both failed. So I bought a set of Tein Basis coilovers and a SPC Rear Camber & Toe kit. Almost on whim, I only had the rears installed to *fix* the problem in the rear. And it certainly did that; rear fitment is exactly what I want now.

I figured to install the fronts if the handling was compromised, but handling actually improved, so that meant I could save the front CO's for another future mod, including front camber arms and new end-links. But I'm in no hurry.

There. Now somebody show off their sedan before I start getting flamed by someone who doesn't give a fck.

Nothing's changed and to be honest, I can't think of anything else to do visually. Well besides painting the calipers and changing the pinstripe color! Strictly performance mods from here on out.
