New member: g35 sedan vs g37 sedan (tried searching)
Eksigned, can you post more pics? Haha. Looks good. If/when I get a g 37 sedan, I wouldn't mod too much but I'd plan to paint grille black or buy an aftermarket one, do LEDs like for drl and interior and 6000k hid bulbs. I'd also debadge whole trunk and do something with tail lights, don't like how red they are lol. Maybe light smoke or something. Lastly get an exhaust, something with tone but not loud.
Any links to good sites you guys use for parts like grilles, Exhausts, etc?

Here's a bad cell phone picture...fronts need spacers...+35 isn't flush (for your reference). +35 rears sit well!

Here's a picture of the rear plasti-dipped. I've removed all the badges since though (don't have a decent picture unfortunately
)
Don't worry about the power difference, the G37 is heavier and thus negates the slightly bigger engine, go for the style you like. If you get a G35 sedan pick up an 07 or 08 with the VQ35HR engine not the DE
Bought my 09 G37xS Sedan back in November. Drove an 08 G35x and the 09 back to back. Although the 7 speed transmission may have some issues, the 09 with what I think is more aggressive gearing and more HP the decision was simple for the nominal amount of additional dollars. In addition, less miles, and more factory warranty also was a plus to getting the 09.
MPG - A buddy has an 08 up here in Minneapolis area and runs about 18.1 mixed all yr driving. My 09 runs consistently about 21.5mpg.
IMHO get 09 or newer!

6MT is the way to go! Save The Manuals!
I attached some interior shots of my 2011 G37S 6MT for you. 2007 to 2012 interiors are all about the same in the 6MT. Some changes were; the gauge cluster lighting and colour, the seat heater switches went from high/low rocker switch to a 6 position dial (in the same location). 2010 and up have a better resolution lcd/nav.
FWIW - I had a 2007 G35X, 4 years and I hardly notice much of a power difference. The 6MT is a bit more fun to drive but I would also avoid it if you do a lot of stop and go driving.
A great source of G info, including manuals can be found/downloaded here as well.

I switched from an Evo x to a 2008 g35s. I thought I will miss the power of the x but hey the G35s did not dissapoint me at all! Power wise, still ok.

I've owned both a 2007 sedan and a 2011 sedan. (both AWD)
I don't notice the power bump.... as mentioned maybe it's the extra weight.
Maybe i got lucky, but i've had no issues w/ the 7 speed vs the 5 speed. Having a lower final drive ratio is nice for my long freeway commute.
MPG between the two have been within 1/2 MPG.
I also didn't like the orange/red driver info screen color scheme in the 2007. The 2011 is easier on the eyes IMHO.
I like the facelift they did for MY2010 - revised fascia, moving the foglights down, the front turn signals in, etc. I think the 2011 looks better than the 2007
Nav system & Audio display, etc is marginally but noticeably better in the 2011.
Remember, it goes like this for the sedan
2006 and before : The "old" G35
2007 - 2008 : Redesigned G35 (3.5L and 5EAT)
2009 only : G37 with the exact same 2008 body (3.7L and &EAT)
2010 - now : G37 with facelift (as mentioned fascia changes, etc)
Bottom line - If the *only* reason you're gravitating towards a G37 vs a G35 is "more power" you need to rethink that (IMHO) - it's a toss up in my mind. I personally would take a G37, but that's due to looks, lower miles, hope of warranty, blah blah.....
